Thanks but the issue in some phones and android 11 tablets is the system collecting junk and keeping it using up to 90% of storage with no way to unlock or delete it. Mine is full now with very few apps or videos. Still almost 500gb full. It's nuts.

Dawg in 2008 if your phone had 64 gb of storage it would have been more expensive than a Porsche.. Phones back then had an average of like MAYBE a Gb of internal storage if it was top of the line and for business/office use like a blackberry. Personal cell phones typically gave you an option to add a micro SD which at the time were very expensive and usually topped out around 2 Gb as the cards themselves were very new. And that was a lot when all you were storing was mp3s and low resolution pictures from a 1.3 megapixel camera phone that shot 10 second videos. I think people don't realize how far we've fucking come since 2008..

I think that smartphone companies are intentionally doing this. I had the same problem with my xiaomi phone and now with my realme phone too.. They are filling up the system storage so normal thing like taking pictures make you think about your phone storage and later on making you buy a new phone.

Storage has consistently been around 28.8-30.1 for MONTHS. Especially high considering my phone allows for 32. I've deleted multiple apps, photos, etc. No luck at all. Going to give this a shot in the morning to see if it helps.

I got Infinix smart 8 with 92gb system storage... I've deleted all of my videos and it added to system as well... So what I did is go to file manager , find the recently deleted section and all the files I've deleted was still there because it was deleted temporarily so I delete it again and my system storage went to 13gb... Just try it...

I had the same issue and couldn't find a solution. I was able to figure it out on my own how to fix it. You have to reboot your phone to the android recovery mode then wipe the cache partition and then repair the apps. Step by step instructions. 1. Restart the phone. 2. Press and hold the volume up button and the power button at the same time when the phone is about to restart. 3. Once the android recovery mode loads select wipe cache partition by pressing the volume keys and then power button to initiate the option. 4. After you wipe cache partition, select the repair apps option. This will initiate repair apps and reboot the phone. Once the repair apps is completed, it should fix the issue with your system storage. I'm not sure why this happens but my guess is that files from apps get stuck in the system storage and by wiping the cache partition and repairing the apps fixes the issue.

I cannot begin to thank you enough for this solution! I have been trying for months to fix this issue and finally contacted Samsung today and they were ZERO help. Deleting apps did nothing to increase the storage on my phone because it just moved from apps to storage. I followed your steps and I went from 1 GB to 30 GB and as far as I can tell, there was nothing lost in the process! I was about to give up and get a new phone (which I really was not in the mood to do) and I stumbled into this video (which I actually realized I had watched before and found of no help). I came to the comments to say this isn't helpful and am so glad I did, because you had the solution right here! I am going to share this in a few spots. I hope that is okay! Thank you again!

After watched this video. I tried a sort of ways and means just to remove the system storage. However all means in vain. The only way can really delete all systems storage back to new, unfortunately, is to reset to factory setting. I even downloaded all types of apps, claims to remove systems storage, but basically, no apps could remove or clean system storage, do a reset to factory setting is where you need to do.

Hey there, ive got the s23 base model. I did use smartswitch app to move from s20fe to this phone and i think that messes things up somehow.. i was having system storage of 105gb on a 256gb device and i tried the recovery repair app and some other advices on the internet nothing helped. So couple hours ago ive backed up all my media manualy to my PC and used smartswitch app on PC to backup my settings apps etc. after that i used recovery mode to wipe cash and data to factory reset and finished with app repair to fresh start. I didnt set anything at first no Google account or Samsung account. After everything installed and updated i checked the system storage and it was about 35gb 👍 Ive finished my work with restoring the backup ive taken on the smartswich PC app and everything looks as it should be for now. It happens because even we deleted files, images, or videos, it was just deleted temporarily and will be deleted permanently after 30 days...so try to check your file manager, click recently deleted and delete all what's in there ...then check your system storage after...Thank you🥰

The apps I use to edit/get clips (capcut,Xbox app,flipaclip,) are taking up the storage I need those apps to make videos and it's really frustrating Also apps I use just for fun like character ai app or pvz are taking up space too so this is just becoming a worst and worse device as I use it more until it's just unusable (I lost a tablet bc of i couldn't download any apps or download clips and i don't want lose another)

Here's MY problem.. I have 1,000's & 1,000's of videos/pictures, & my phone was constantly saying that my storage was full.. So I cleared out over 10GB of videos/pictures, cleared all cache of everything etc.. Now here's the problem.. The video & pictures storage went down a total of 10 GB, (as it should have) BUT, the "System storage" went up 10 GB, AFTER I deleted those 1,000's of Photos/Videos! I've called ATT tech support, I've googled it, You tube'd it.. Cannot figure it out! There's ZERO trash, which makes NO sense, as normally when I delete anything, it shows up in my trash (as it should),, then I delete /empty my trash.. But These last few times that I've deleted things, it's NOT going to my trash, it's going to my "System storage" & I cannot do anything about it. Does anyone on here know how to fix this? I've done everything I know to do! I understand that the System storage takes up a lot of space, but when it has 52GB of storage used, then I delete 10 GB, & it made my storage go UP 10GB, that is crazy!! I've also restarted my phone half dozen times in the last couple days as well, & it shows there's no updates available either. Btw, it's a Samsung Galaxy.

They're doing that on purpose. It's how they manipulate people to get new phones constantly. My phone does the same thing. I want to sue AT&T and Samsung so bad for the deceptive scheming BS they do.
