How to Close an Ironing Board Without a Lever

Thanks! Mine wasn't exactly like this and the lever is lost, but i realized from this that you can stick the screwdriver in from above (have to take off cover) and push the lever back

I would not wish the evil of a terrible ironing board like this on anybody. First I had to go through the ordeal of figuring out how it even closes, I had to jam a screwdriver all around for several minutes before just bending the metal back to see. Then when I finally do depress the tab the legs came down like a guillotine on the tip of my finger, I genuinely could have broken or amputated a finger if it had been anything other than just the very tip caught in that, its still somewhere between throbbing and numb right now. Then I put two dents in my walls with the legs moving this thing around and having it slide back open as I was trying to put it away. So then I got to go through it all over again, get the screwdriver out and close it again. I am going to cleanse the world of this evil. I just duct taped it closed and I am going to take it outside and smash it before I throw it away so that no unsuspecting soul will ever have to deal with the pain and frustration it inflicts.

I have this ironing board. I have the mechanism and it still took me thirty minutes to fold. 😅😅😅😅

I can’t count how many Fairfield Inns I’ve checked into, only to find the ironing board standing in the middle of the floor, uncollapsable. I’ve begun putting them into the closets, still standing. If someone invents a new design for these pieces of crap, they’ll make a fortune.
