How to collect cigars like a pro!  

I usually buy in bulk because I order online. If I don't like them Imma learn to like em.

This was the best advice I’ve ever received from Tim at Cigars Daily.

I bought 7 Rocky Patel 1990's like an idiot. It's okay but not good enough that I'd actually choose it over the others in my humidor. They became my go to hand off cigars

I just buy multiple boxes, I don’t use the word overstocked with cigars, guns, hats, whiskey, ammo, rods n reels etc

One to test and one to rest! I like that.

Love how cigars have the same basic buying principles as wine.

I don’t have a problem with collecting them. It’s affording to collect them all is the issue! 😂

One other idea too, figure out what your favorite cigars are blended with. If the blend for a cigar is similar to your favorites, you can be more confident in buying a box. Crowned Heads Blood Medicine was like that. I absolutely love Ecuadorian wrappers, enjoy Connecticut tobacco a good bit, and it's hard to find a cigar with Nicaraguan tobacco (I know of all my favorites without it, just a very common origin right now), so I knew I'd love it. Or if you know who blended the cigar, like Eladio Diaz, you can know it'll be good. He blended all my favorite cigars, so Sanj Patel SP1014 Antra was an instant buy of 2 boxes because I know I love Eladio's ability to make an amazing cigar

Good advice did the 2 times myself and glad I did. I've also jumped right off the boat with little info about it but thought it would be good and haven't been burnt yet

I've got my 'go to' cigars, but I never come home with the same mix.

I usually do this, but I'd much rather buy 3. I like to smoke one fairly soon after purchasing them. If I enjoy it, I have another I can smoke without being sad about it being the last one. Then I rest the third one. That being said, I usually only buy 2 so I can buy try more cigars.

This is true but when you only smoke one a week, two if there’s a special occasion you really don’t run into this problem bc there’s so many blends to choose from and there’s always something new and boutique to try

2 sticks at a time is exactly how I collect NEW cigars! 👍🏾

I tend to buy one or two to start then look to buy a bigger amount

I usually buy a sample pack and if I like some I'll buy a 5 pack...

I’m a newer smoker and I’ve been enjoying the different sample packs from mikes, you get five different ones to try out

Yeah that's an amazing advice. I've ordered some things that I just didn't really like and then I was stuck with them forever and had to give them away....

I did that for a long time. Then I always liked the ones I got so ended up just going with the 5 packs. Only once did I not like the blend. But about 6 months later, after going back. I liked them. So all is good

I usually buy 3…. similar reasoning but can share that first try/taste with a buddy and have one for reserve

I buy 5ers and 10s. If i love them great i have a few extra. If I hate them well I don’t have a box to smoke through 😂

I always buy 2 and smoke them in the lounge

What’s your recommendation to stock on Cigars and save them? What kind of cigars?

I buy a couple and write them down and rate them myself on taste and if they suck hand them off because life is full of disappointment but the knowledge is worth the price sorta

I usually just sniff every cigar in the humidor aggressively then put them all back and buy none.

I usually order a 5-pack of my faves. That works best for me since I am not a huge cigar smoker.
