I have a price range. I know that if a cigar is between 10 and $15 that's not going to be to my standards. Even if it's my brand. If a cigar is $20 to $50 a stick I know it's possible. I will love it. So I'll pick one of each size up and then I'll try those over a few weeks and see which ones I liked and which ones I like, and the ones I'm like let me put this down. I'll also take recommendations from someone I know has smoked cigars for a long time. Premium hand rolled cigars.
I'll be honest, I don't see a problem with cigars. In fact I see them as a benefit in health at least from mental health. And I recommend all men to have a cigar. Especially if there's something really important on their mind and they need to really focus on it. It's great for being able to sit there and really key in on something specific. That's not to say that I'm advocating for somebody to become a chain cigar smoker.
I had the Habano Knucklebuster 6x60 Gordo. Lots of spice in the first third. Second third the sweetness and smoothness of the wrapper opened up, it kept the spice and pepper from earlier. Last 3rd is more cream and smooth, less pepper and spice than the first two thirds. I’d give it a 4 out of 5 for value, flavor and construction.
When i started to get more into my cigar journey Gurkha was one of the springboards. Not all of them are great ,there are a few hit and misses. This is one of the reasons i love cigars. The sure journey of find your match. I like to try different ones, I've tried some high ends that i didn't understand why i paid that price(wasn't that great) to lower side that were wonderful. So to bash a brand for some bad decisions in blends or something not to my taste 🤷🏾.
My first humidor was a cigars daily acrylic. Love it gave to a friend he loves it. I have a wooden humidor that is nice used boveda to season it and have no issues with it. I keep a large boveda bag and a small. I use my small exactly how you talked in the video. Grab sticks from my other bag or humidor to take on the go. Golf, work, wedding any occasion honestly. Love BOVEDA!
I have a used ST DuPont Maxi jet at home that I bought used on eBay. I loved it… until it quit working. I know. I know. I can send it in for repair. I just never get around to it.
I can't believe Im telling on myself, but I was 18 before I realized that a cigar was a tobacco leaf. I really thought it was brown paper rolled up real tight.😮😂
Acids were my first cigar coming into the cigar community. They still call me Bishop Sweet Sicks (pause). I have evolved but o still like to smoke infused cigars like Tabak, Java, and occasionally I go back to Acid Kuba’s. I still like them and don’t care what anybody thinks. To me it seems like the more pungent a cigar the more accepted it is…I’m being facetious. However, life is too short to listen to what the so called experts say you should like. Live your life for youraelf
I started smoking cigars recently for this reason, it carves out me time from a busy, hectic day. I sit back, relax and enjoy the beauty of nature. Any flavor notes is a bonus. My favorite is the MF Le Bijou with a fine bourbon.
“Dirty Sooty finish” finally someone said the words I’ve been searching for. I’ve always said a burnt charred aftertaste, but this makes more sense. By the way, this is the thing I do not like that seems to be common in cigars under $10 a stick. IMO anyway!
I have smoked quite a few of those, my favorite being the maduro... And yes, for those, I knew I could and have smoked those paper bands... They seem to add just a discrete sweet taste. I really like them.
