This is part 12 in a series of videos where I show you how to harvest your own annual and perennial flower seeds. I love Echinacea (also known as Coneflower) because they are so pretty and are very easy to start from seed. This winter, I will show you how I winter sow these seeds using milk jugs. Collecting flower seeds and propagating plants is easy and fun!

I started about 40 echinacea plants last year from seed. They were awesome, went in the ground and were doing great until "rabbitmania" descended upon my garden. I lost all but three plants to the critters! I do have some more established "white swan" echinacea that the bunnies only ate about half of so now with your help I will collect seeds from that plant and start again. One of the plants that survived did put up flowers which I was thrilled with since this is a first year perennial. Thanks for sharing! I am loving this series, so helpful:)

Thx i just bought a banged up old crispi multi colored echinacia plant it would be great if i could plant my own. I tried before with no success. Im thinking put them in soil and keep in my garage till spring so the seeds dont get eaten by something but theyll experience cold season?? Im in illinois. Near chicago

Hi Lisa! Is your plant currently in a pot? Does it have flowers on it still? I'm just curious. If it were me, I'd get that plant into the ground so that its roots can establish themselves. 💗🌷

Hi there! Great question. I have a lot of coneflowers in my yard so I collect the seeds from those plants. Also, I like to collect coneflower seeds from plants that I see out in local parks. If you're unable to find a coneflower plant to collect the seeds from, you can always just buy the seeds online. 😊🌸

@@budgetgardeningvita actually I'm from India... And we don't get good flower seeds from online.... If I ordered corn flower seeds we get normal susan flower seeds....
