I’ve been coloring for years, as a matter of fact most of my Prismacolor pencils are still my original ones from about 28 years ago… geez I’m old! But I’m newer to your channel and wanted to just let you know how much I enjoy all your videos. They’re so relaxing and informative to watch. Love your techniques. I am still curious to see what you do with all the Diamond Art canvases when you’ve finished them - I may not have reached that video yet 😂, I’m binge watching you today while I work. Thanks for sharing your talents!!

Kori, I love this image. Thanks for the skin tutorial. The skin looks amazing. I will definitely print out the image and try it. I’m glad you came out with the tutorial because this buddy color is one I wanted to do. I actually saw Christine Karon’s video where she did this image in water color, and it was stunning. Maybe some day I will be able to create something like that😊

@@ColorfullyOptimistic I do too! The way CK uses watercolor is so effortless and beautiful! I too am trying to get back into watercoloring but not by watching someone else. Like most all mediums, it takes personal practice and lots of it. I used to create landscapes with acrylic, however very different mediums, sadly I can’t use my experience from then. Take care.

Hi Kori, you sound so much better, I hope you are! You use basically the same colors for skin as I do except I don’t use beige. This skin is gorgeous and looks just like my portraits…that’s a joke, not even close lol. I haven’t done a portrait in forever and I find when I don’t stay consistent with faces I lose something, maybe muscle memory? This will be stunning if you plan on finishing it. Thank you Kori, for sharing your colors and technique. Take care hun.

I love your tutorials. I will have to get this page and color along. One question!!! Why no Prisma blender?
@ColorfullyOptimistic
@ColorfullyOptimistic 2 года назад
Prisma blender takes out too much pigment and doesn’t blend evenly like the Caran d’ache or Splender blender. Sadly not all blenders are the same.

Hi Kori, I’m new to your channel and am loving your tutorials and all the info you share! I’m equally new at doing faces and hair and I’ve learned a lot from you so thank you so much! @ColorfullyOptimistic
@ColorfullyOptimistic 2 года назад
So over the years, using Prisma as my primary pencil, I have tried a lot of blenders, and I feel you get a lot smoother results and less burnishing/color changes with the Lyra or Caran d'ache ESPECIALLY when using the paper I use. If you are using a toothier paper, the Prisma one works well too.

@ColorfullyOptimistic
@ColorfullyOptimistic Год назад
They aren't my preferred ones. They are too soft, build up wax and I really like to get in a lot of detail through flicking layers rather than the opacity of the Prisma. So, I will use Polys, Black Widow or my favorite, Derwent Prcolour.

When I do skin, I notice it pulls colors too far and doesn't smooth them like the Caran d'ache one does.

Are these colours available in the normal 150 set of prisma? They're not from the prisma skin tone set? X

So the Prisma skin tone set pencils are all in the 150 set. There are only 150 Prismacolor pencils (unless you count discontinued colors). So yes, they are.

They are not -- right now they are focusing on replacing two colors with two new ones. There is an old Blick FB post that is confusing people because it says it is from 2021, but in reality, it is much older since it is talking about Prisma creating the 150 set.
