Andy that is brilliant. Transformed my opinion of Register 360 as being a very limited, and clumsy registration software (compared to Recap and Scene), with an interface from the 1990's to a very capable registration software (with a user interface from the 1990's :-) ). Thank you so much.
This is going to be helpful, thanks. Mirrors and windows. We did 50 plus scans (P50) at an Air Attack Base at an airport…tons of reflections. I cleaned that up scan by scan in Cyclone. Yesterday we did 91 scans using our new RTC360 in the forest, 400 feet down a mid slope road, hairpin turn, 200 feet to a gulch, 200 feet upstream (steep, brush, dead fall), lost link midway, batteries died at the top, back down to the road, 300 feet along the road, down to a creek, 600 feet along the creek parallel to the road and back up to close at the hairpin turn. Last scan batteries 3 & 4 were red, low battery warning came on, barely made it. We have 10 control points and b&w targets along the way. To do that with the P50 would be extremely difficult due to weight, heavy tripod, longer scan times. Would’ve gotten fewer scans. With the total station would take a long time, many days, trying to scramble up steep slopes with the target pole.
The price is extreme tho. I bought a second hand blk 360, and the software is almost the same as what I paid for the scanner. Meaning my expected cost has doubled. I’m currently looking at ways to just use the raw pointcloud data instead, which I can use in my cad software where I am creating my model
Hey guys im using the gen 2 of blk 360 3D laser scanner and the import over cyclone register 360 blk edition with the Field App 360 is really slow. On task manager 70- 81mbits. Im call with "Scanner2Go" and the default are 500mbits. is the issue public ? im Using the latest version of cyclone 360 register blk edition. i hope any can help. Im Testing the Tablet (Field App 360) with Iperf2 and have an gigabit bandwidth (900mbits) and the drive speed are okay (700mbs on read an 400on write) With usb c gigabit adapter Wlan are the same speed 70mbits

Awesome, very helpful, but what happens when things don't work out well?? Like getting red and yellow links. Showing how to solve those issues would be helpful. This is truly a best case scenario.
Hi Jenny, If you are getting yellow and red links and you are sure that your scans have sufficient overlap, you might need to clean up the trees and the noise from your scans. All of these extra points are being used in the registration and if they aren't stable, they can cause poor results. If you want to keep these moving objects in the scan for visualization purposes, there is the option to delete points for the cloud-to-cloud algorithm only, and they will stay in the scan for visualization.
I have an issue where I already have all the scans aligned in the iPad and when I use "Field 360" to Import into Cyclone Register 360, it imports all the projects that I have on the iPad not just the specific 1 project I have selected. Is there a way to simply only import 1 project that has multiple scans in the project?
Every time I delete a link the Sitemap view, it zooms way out and I have to "zoom to all" and then zoom back in to where I am working. How can I change the setting so that when I delete a link the view will not change?
Thanks Leica and Andy for the video. Although I've been working with Register, got some very good tips (eg. the tab for circling around plan/vertical in alignment) in workflow and cleaning. Is it possible or have you already done a video that explores the properties menu of the bundle (Global error, loop error, cloud-to-cloud), etc?
Absolutely wonderful tutorial. Running Register 360 2021 build R19986. Exporting LGS and RCP (cloud) is grayed out. So no option to export these formats. Any ideas why that is?
Hi i like your vedio it very good and given me lots of information i would like to know some more info if you can make a vedios related on that currently im faceing problem while importing, when i import from BLK360 with cabel using leica 360 softwear, i miss some setup during that time why this happen ? in that case what is best soulution Eg: im importing 1 to 20 setup which is one bundle after import it gives pop up setup 15 or 17 is missing so what is the reson behind this missing 15 and 17 setup
Hello @user-jv4gz6xb6l, have you tried to use the BLK Data Manager to download the instrument? This might help. This way you can see all the scans on the instrument and download them in the ‘chunks’ you want. Once you have the downloaded .blk files, drag and drop them into REGISTER 360.
Hello, great tutorial. Does the Register 360 BLK Edition capable of exporting in LGS file as shown in this tutorial? I am about to bye a register 360BLK license so I would like to know the limitations of the BLK Edition. Thanks a lot.
you need to install "BLK Data Manager" software. Afterwards the device n PC must be connected to the same wifi name and you can import from there! hope this helps
Hey Carlos, the fastest way I have found is to get an old wireless router and connect my IPad and Laptop via network cable, basically creating separate network just for the data transfer. Just remember to turn off the wifi on your PC/Laptop to speed things up.
Quick question, I have an unwanted scan in my registration from an old job. It wont delete as its saying its got User Coordinate System (UCS) in it. But there is no way to delete the UCS, which its bad because its not a Setup included in the bundle I want to export. Basically the set up wont delete as its got a UCS attached, I cant for the life of me find out how to remove it.
