This is my initial review since I just got the ipad and I'm hoping to update it when I've had it longer ru-vid.comUgkxUGaHtKW8MwCql2fPyIm9-ftTqSMzKFFA . I purchased one that was listed as "acceptable condition" and was a little worried about what it would look like. However, I am pleased with its condition. The back has some scuffs and a small dent near the logo. There are a few tiny marks at the bottom of the front of the ipad but the condition of the screen is perfect. There are no scratches or anything. I was able to set it up, use it, and it charges fine. I'm hoping it continues to work well for me. So far it was worth the purchase. Also shipping was fast. The item came one day earlier than expected
You do have a really good presentation style. You're concise, you make your point and give useful demonstrations and tips. Excellent video - thank you Pete.
Thanks for the video! Using the USB adapter cable, what if you need to charge your iPad? Won’t removing the Bluetooth cable disconnect the keyboard if you need to charge your iPad?
My iPad has essentially been doubling as a second laptop, and I really don’t want to drop a ton on a Smart Keyboard cover. This video was super helpful!! I’m trying to get into writing music on Notion but it’s absolute hell without a mouse at the least, thank goodness I can actually use one!
Hi I have a quick question does this work for gaming purposes or not cause I might buy them but I want to know if it will work for what I’m going to use these devices for
Most iOS games don't support mouse and keyboard unfortunately. I like the magic keyboard, or for bluetooth, the M590 is a great mouse. All my gear recommendations are at studiolivetoday.com/gear
Can you suggest me a cheap gaming mouse that is a wireless without a little usb chip? And what type of dongle is that cause I can’t find it on apple website.
It’s the genuine Apple Lightning to USB 3 adapter - studiolivetoday.com/usb I like this mouse - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_nbZU0eYnQM.html
Thanks for that helpful video, Pete. I want to have a stand-alone monitor connected to my ipad and I can now do that after watching your video. However, my preference would be the ability to use mouse and keyboard functions on the monitor rather than on the ipad (easier to see on monitor) but I guess as the monitor is just duplicating what is on the ipad, the monitor would not offer interactivity with the keyboard and mouse. Is that correct?
Hey there. Yes, you can mirror your iPad display via HDMI and use a keyboard and mouse. It really only works with USB-C based iPads. This video will help. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kPvsEIUigik.html
Hi Peter, first of all i want to thank you for all your videos regarding GarageBand, i’ve been using usb keyboard and mouse for months on my iPad in Garageband, but suddenly one day the keyboard start to be not responsive, sometimes work sometimes not and it really driving me crazy cause i can’t find the reason. Do you also experienced this kind of problem? Thank you
That’s an odd one. USB or Bluetooth? Maybe provide some more info and ask over at the GarageBand Users Facebook group. Also make sure you are using a genuine Apple Lightning to USB 3 adapter.
@@PeteJohnsMusic I see which is weird since it would basically compatible with XR. Thanks for answering my Question now i can finally Destroy Nerds on Gaming haha
Hi Pete! I’d like to use my iPad Pro with a dock, monitor, PC keyboard and mouse. I know this video focuses on best Bluetooth ancillaries but what USB A/C devices do you recommend work best? Would they work well enough via the docking station?
Hello! Amazing video. I just have a question. I got an iphone but it will be better if i could connect it to my old hdmi TV. Is it possible? and what would I need?
There is an Apple HDMI adapter which is compatible with iPhone. Check out my video about it here - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tlyqm3akK_M.html
Hey, great video, loved it I'm planning on buying an iPad Air and my work involves typing a lot. This video was very helpful but I didn't see you type using your keyboard, does it work? I have a wireless keyboard and mouse set with an USB receiver.
Hi ! thank you for your video, i have a question for a particular situation : Could you unlock your iphone/ipad by replacing the home button push with a keyboard plugged on the lightning/usb adapter ? Thank you for your answer !
You’d need an iPad with USB-C for this. Lightning doesn’t support USB devices and HDMI output at the same time unfortunately. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-WprzVbqzGsQ.html
IVE BEEN SEARCHING FOR THIS VIDEO (ABOUT CONNECTING BOTH THE WIRELESS KEYBOARD AND MOUSE) FOR THE LAST 2 MONTHS , THANKS , AMAZIING I HAVE AQUESTION , HOW GOOD ARE THESE WHILE WE RECONNECT EVERYTIME WE BRING THEM TOGETHER ?
Thank you! I went to the Apple store and asked them whether my wireless keyboard/mouse, with the little USB thing would work with the iPad Pro and they told me no. Good to know it actually does work and Apple employees don’t know what they’re talking about!
Errrr..... yeah. They are told to say no as they can’t “guarantee” that every device will work. Most do / especially nice and keyboards which are almost 100% class compliant. 👍
Pete Johns thanks! I also asked about connecting an external hard drive and they told me no to that as well. A little search online showed that I can (a guy connected the same Seagate drive that I have).
Very helpful thank you. I haven’t tried this yet, I’ll buy mouse. Question, I’ve been using garage band without a mouse on my iPad 4. Without the arrow clicker, using touch screen. Is there a difference? Thier are simple things on garage band (like navigating a notes length on piano roll. (Sometimes it won’t allow me to add notes within a measure) i still cannot manipulate garage band. I used ‘Audiotool’ before garage band. Audiotool is like studio endless. But it’s old, Same synths that made asteroids and packman arcade games. 303s 808s make your own sounds. It takes time forever dialing sound. Not knowing anything. I used to turn off volume off (because the guy used all this audio terminology never giving reason or basic explanation what he said (to make himself sound smart). Audiotool uses old school effect pedals (same as guitar pedals) he calls all pedals the same, if it’s a distortion, delay, chorus, whatever (calls filters) ridiculous! . Watching tutorials and copy the mouse note for note trying to sound like the tutorial. Painstakingly A 10 -20 min video tutorial, could take two or more hours dialing in the sound. I was slow.. It was cool though (even sounds I didn’t like i would try copy eventually get right. Something’s I could not copy. Audiotool allows option listening to tracks made by uses Audiotool. Endless. You hear something you like you click and youre same page they made the track. You can see how mixing board drum machines everything is plugged. And you can Tweek the dials change effects manipulate butcher destroy the track. It won’t change the original . I copied everything to copy three heisenburg synths, plugged into mixing board for a week. I could never copy that sound. It was so weird beautiful but I couldn’t figure the sound. You could tell whoever made didn’t know chords piano (one spot) I have yet hear anything far away detached. Growls from kick drum. Drums I don’t know what note a kick drum is. Lol.
My question is, lets say I have 2 of those adapters, if I plug an adapter with my mouse to my phone, but also put the pther adapter into the adapter, can I also connect the keyboard? Like a way to connect infinite usbs?
I’m pretty sure her Apollo is not class compliant (needs a driver to operate) and therefore won’t work with iOS. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-K95B2-KfMak.html
It does seem a little strange that I’m going out of my way to use an older input method that the iPad has tried to eliminate! But it’s just too darn convenient!!
Thanks much Pete. I just about had it with my stiff, thick, immune diseased fingers and my iPhone. I got the Logitech keyboard through your link. I already had a Bluetooth mouse that works well. Your video got me started and now I use the iPhone just like a PC. I ordered two t-shirts. Your a musician as well and I will check out. Bass player here.
Awesome! Thanks so much for the kind words and support. Yes, once you start using a mouse and keyboard with your iPhone/iPad, you'll find it opens up a whole new world. You can check out my music here if you like too - petejohns.com
@@PeteJohnsMusic 9 months on and another thank you for making life easier with your video. The keyboard\combo is really great. Ordering more tee shirts.
Hi Pete... thnx for this great video.. you always explain everything so clearly, with just a fiew words. Love the 4 reasons.. and even found a 5. one for me... it would make live chat so much easier 🤣🤣🤣 , to type on the tiny screen drives me crazy... not to mention the typos... lol
Keyboard support is available in iOS 12, but mouse support was only added in iOS 13 I'm afraid - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-cJt49agDl0M.html
I have the Rii wireless mouse and keyboard and my iPad which has iOS 13 can’t detect it. You pushed a couple of buttons on the keyboard but I didn’t follow what you did.
Sure do! And always happy to discuss this when folks are respectful like you are. Prosthetic right eye due to a birth defect so always only had sight in the left. Thanks for watching!

Pete Johns no i dosent impact the info just hoped it would get better not even a minute and and i alteady like your personality keep up the good work 😃
Hey Pete! I’ve connected my mouse to my iPad via a USB to Lightning converter and on the main iPad it works fine. However when I then go into GarageBand the delay is very, very long and it’s physically impossible to manoeuvre around and make some music. Would you have any tips on how I could get it working? Thanks for all the amazing videos!
That’s very strange? Might be an issue with the wireless receiver and interference? Make sure if it’s wireless hat there nothing else nearby using 2.4gHz wireless.
I was thinking if i connect bluetooth to keyboard, how will i connect my bluetooth mouse, u helped me a lot there...thanks pete.. helps me a lot for online assignments... Keep up the great work!👍
Hi my friend. Thanks so much for this video. Do you know if this accessories works good with good notes? Like typing, scrolling and something like that? Fan for Brazil! 😁
Hey, I’m a bit confused because I have a MK 250 Logitech keyboard and I have my USB but I don’t know how to get it into the device since there is no USB port. Do you know what I could do?
