Hello... My problem is that after connecting my usb mic to my iPad using the adapter, audio gets recorded very low it almost looks like a single line on the track graph (I am not using apple's adapter) please tell me do I need apple adapter with charging port like you showed in this video or a simple type c to usb will work? I do not have any problem to connect a Rode USB-microphone to my iPad 10 but then the loudspeakers of the iPad do not work anymore. What is going wrong here? The same happens when I use the iPad as a tuner and connect a clip contact microphone for tuning to the iPad. As long as this microphone is connected the loudspeaker does not work. (For example when I first use the tuning app for tuning and then the same app as a metronome which makes sound.)

Hi, thanks for the video. I'm using rode nt usb mic with the ipad pro 3rd gen(usb-c connection) so using official apple adapter. It will not record in garage band, just continues to use the internal mic. Any ideas please?

I just ordered it It works perfectly but it only works on the app garage band but it doesn’t work on other apps What should I do?!! (It could be because when I connect the mic the speaker stops working so I put in my AirPods but maybe the other apps are only detecting the AirPods and using the AirPod mic instead so how do I get the mic to work without having to put headphones on? )

I have a Rode NT + usb mic. I want to directly connect to my iPhone . The cable won’t allow me to. So I bought an adapter . Still nothing . Then I bought a lighting adapter still. Nothing . Now I got just an Apple direct on one end to the mic and the other end directly to the iPhone and still no power . I’m Confused now and frustrated. I turned on monitor and was able to do vocal testing on the mic but if coarse was getting echo feedback . I don’t have headphones yet . I wonder if that would solve the problem? I thought the iOS would detect my mic or I can find in a settings somewhere to turn on the usb mic I garage band on iPhone but I guess not .

Yes the charging cable is stopping your ipad or iphone running out of charge. If you need to power the mic you need to use the USB hub trick that I show towards the end of the video

But if i plug it in, de iPad doesn't give me output sound. So if i want to sing a long with the previously recorded music, it's not possible. Do i miss something here?

My problem is, I’m trying to record a video of just me playing the guitar singing a song, so I plug in my external mic, open camera, hit record, play the song. But then when I go back to watch it. If you mean to monitor the audio as you record you would need a breakout cable so you can plug headphones in at the same time

The mic needs 5v power to work, either from a powered USB hub or your computer

Without knowing your exact setup this would be really hard for me to pin down, and going live from an iPad is not something I have done in a long time, I normally use a computer which makes this really easy. But the first thing I would look at if I was you is what are you using for your headphones, since you've got a mic plugged into the USB-C port I'm guessing your headphones are connecting via Bluetooth?

You need a mic that has a headphone jack. There are mics that you can plug an earphone to it so you can hear the other people. If your mic doesnt have a headphone jack then use a bluetooth speaker so you can hear the other people when your in vcall.

I heard these types of setups don't work in phone calls, discord and zoom. It only works in voice recorders and cameras. Is this true or is that just a difference between apple and android?
