@@jeremyochoa1097 to power a car amp you need a power supply that puts out 12 volts from what I heard but never used my car amp I just connected the positive and negative to 2 12 inch subs and they sound good and played around with the bass knob
You can do the same thing with a desktop PSU, or an Ant Miner power supply. If you are going to have an amplifier that ranges 1000 watts rms or higher, recommended to get a 2 farad cap just to be on safe side. Used to have car audio as a stereo at home. I loved having 3 10's in my bedroom and 4 6x9s on a car head unit was great for making beats at home when i was 19. 28 now, so this was almost 10 years ago for me. My neighbors hated me back then.
@@abisailmurillo124 antminer psu's run on 12 volt dc. Amplifers remote power line is also 12 volt. You can clip all the connectors off the antminer psu wire 1 yellow for remote, and the rest to 12v. Then all black to ground.
I use mind to psu and push 4000 watts Lanzar 4channel with crossover to separate to mid high to bass shit dummin my neighbor called a police for me and still plyn idgaf at all they not gone do shit at all
What you did is exactly what I'm trying to do and to make beat's as well. That's my main focus for this. I have a 1000w rms amp for sub and a seprate amp for two car speakers. What's the method that worked for you?
when I was a kid (2002-03) I put 2 10s with the same style set up as this but all I used was a boat battery and a car charger lol that shit banged my bedroom so hard 😂 I can’t believe I didn’t burn my parents house down. Shit was crazy now that I look back 🤣🤣🤣
For a more simple budget friendly setup you can use an Xbox power supply, PC power supply or something like such and split the wires accordingly. For the PC power supply you will have to trick it into thinking the power button is pressed so it is always on. Then you can hookup a car stereo to power your speakers. For a sub you could use a home theatre box and connect via RCA
@@NeoNova people show you in pc builds etc when testing builds and custom water cooling i dont remeber the exact wires but look up how to turn on a pc power supply without a switch and there should be videos
@@NeoNova actually i found you run a jumper wire from the green wire on your power supply to any of the black ground wires on the pin connecter or just cut the wires and tie them together you're welcome (the main pin connecter that runs to the motherboard ie. the big wide one with all the holes lol)
while yes you could, but you'd have to buy a 1500w pc power supply to match the current output on his Pmax power supply, as far as xbox power supplies, i dont see how you can power a 1500w sub on a 200w xbox 360 psu To make this real easy to understand, if your sub is 1500w, itll need 125amp at 12v input. anyone feel free to correct me, but to my knowledge, this is correct
Damn dude! I have ONE of those same Orions that I am trying to test since I haven't had it connected for years. That thing used to make my eyes shake and literally broke my rear view mirror glue, i glued it on again, and it broke the chunk of windshield that the rear view mirror was glued to out. I can't imagine having 4. That's awesome!
I like the" Slash Series 1000/1 amp it's still one of the best and underrated car amps on the market I've heard RMS continuous wattage at 12-14 volts DC
Thanks ,bro i finally got my powermax , I'm running a stetsom 10,500 watts rms at 1ohm . And 1 15 subwoofer 10,000 watts RMS . This power max is amazing it does the job really well.
@@blazedlegend I get more power on car amps this amp really shakes my sub . Its amazing. I'm using crown just for mids and tweeters. Thanks for your help.
Make sure to use a powerful enough power supply. A 12v power brick or something may turn on the amp, but can't deliver all the ampere, that a big amplifier needs, and it can damage both amplifier and power supply
@@Theaudioguru crown amps XLi models will only do 8ohm bridged and 4ohm x 2. I have four car subs in my surround each dual 2ohm, each wired at 4ohms. Two 12s are connected to an xli1500 and two 10s to an xli 2500
I had 2 15" hx2 that i bought new in a sealed box. . with a audiobahn 2801q bridged , it made 10** rms.. cruisin in my 84 monte carlo in high school, little did i know that would be my prime years
it'll be fine it's a 120A converter, 1000(w) / 13.6(v) = 74ish(amps). Only thing I'm concerned about is how long do you want the wires to poke in the amp? o.O
You should really think about fusing that. short power wire from the power supply/battery terminal to an inline fuse holder, then the longer power wire to the amp. This adds an extra layer of protection for your amp and subwoofer. If there were to be a power surge or issue, it'd blow the inline fuse, effectively protecting your equipment.
@@blazedlegend *I don’t get it,if you can hook it up in house, why can’t we do the same for people that have electric vehicles without using the alternator?*
for everyone who wants to set an amp up in their house, don't go over 14.4V and under 12V, it might damage your amplifier (unless you want to be sherlock holmes and see how it damages it, go ahead)
@@kultss most amps are rated to do their rated power at 14.4 volts, so staying in that range is recommended. In a vehical playing into the 12v range is below battery rest voltage and signifys a insufficient charging system.
@@hydroponic6561 well, probably not as the fuse between battery and amp in a car is just to save the battery/car from possible fire if short should happen or something like that
@@topthermite9253 yeah dude I got you here's the video explaining how to please be very safe doing this! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YjMtcJ8S9Nc.html hit me up if you have any questions
I have a 10 inch kicker comp vr running off of a 200 watt fosi audio subwoofer amp and it honestly bumps pretty good it plugs into the wall no power supply needed I'm using a single din car stereo that I'm powering with a Nintendo wii power supply I just cut the end off and soldered the wires into the power connection of the head unit and I'm just using the two fosi audio amplifiers 100 watt one for the bookshelf speakers and the 200 for the subwoofer
I'm a simple man. I see a JL W7, I click like lol. I've hooked up my system with a PC power supply too, pretty easy to do, makes a custom home stereo with car audio parts better than a lot of home theater speakers for the same price or a lot less (for stereo setups that is)
You dont need a special power source like this, you can do it with a PC power supply not laptop supply but from a tower. As long as you have more than 40 amperes in 12v rail you are good to go with a modest 600/700w amplifier. Just do the jumpstart on the power supply using a cable to connect the green wire to the black in the 21pins big cable and conect the yellow from a molex to positive and black to negative.
Or you can use a pc power supply with a high current AGM battery in parallel to help the amp ✌ Edit: unfortunately the pc psu is regulated right at 12v and not up to 12.7v or 13.8 or even 14.4v
@@Thanson199415 Wich makes it useless as you have less power. I would suggest buying something like an audio grade meanwell PSU wich as far as i know can be adjusted a bit.
@@kaedeschulz5422 agreed. The psu in the video is a really good start but I would also add agm batteries for extra measure. A pc psu really isn't a good idea
Try and cut your remote wire as short as possible to avoid resistance, I mean obviously don't have a fuck ton of tension between your power and remote sockets, just keep about an inch and a half on the wire depending on how far apart they are.
Really important question!! Are you using just that converter for your 8k watt setup!? I'm wanting to setup some subs and speakers in my room but I'd like to run a 2400 watt setup, will this converter work?? Your home build is sick BTW!! 👌💪💪
@@blazedlegend top secret? 🤣😂😂😂😂😂. I watched one video on another channel and I never saw anything else running it and so I was just wondering what else you got, is it like an extra battery or something? But idk, I may only run 1200 watt total, my neighbor is literally so close to me lol.
Let’s say I want to run 2 amps to one power supply, could I connect 2 positive to one terminal and same for the grounds? Would it just draw the amount of power it needs at both amps?
i was doin this in the early 90s trying to get bass in my room as a kidbut power suplies that could run a decent amp were expensive back then and as a kid in middle school
Headunit: Pioneer MVH-21BT (22w RMS/channel) Battery: Nationwide 115 RC/800 CCA Charger: 15a Battery Charger Speakers: 2x Scosche 6x9, 75w RMS. Need 2 more but my Walmart can't seem to stock them. They actually put out, impressed for $37/pair. Subwoofer: Gothic 12" DVC 4ohm Enclosure: Skar AR12x1 Amp: Kicker CXA400.1 Wired to 2 ohm since only 1 sub, Kicker is rated at 300w RMS at 2 ohms but Kicker always underrates, probably getting more around 350w RMS. The sub gets DOWN in the Skar enclosure and for only pushing 350w, can't say enough about Kickers amps even though I'm not a fan of their subs. I've got a Jensen 600w 4 channel amp I need to throw onto my normal speakers, after Walmart decides to stock more of the Scosche's. Was thinking 2 per channel, so eventually should be at 8, 6x9s, 75w RMS each. The battery charger puts out around 200w~ continuous charge, sound systems obviously has their lower consumption times and peaks depending on what you're listening to, but the 15a charger honestly maintains my system paired with the 115 RC battery. 3000sqft house, and you can FEEL the bass throughout the entire house without even cranking wide open, sub still has room to go, but only able to wire down to 2 ohm. 115 RC battery is capable of putting out 25 amps for 115 minutes, so like 600-700 watts of capacity, but will receive 400 watts of charge before that drains. And that's assuming a consistent 25 amp draw for 115 minutes, sound systems don't pull consistently. Never dip below 60% charge, which is what my battery charger actually likes to maintain at, which avoids gassing of the battery, works great. I got a 100Wh battery pack charged up at all times for a quick jump/quick charge if I ever need it, but I haven't had to use it yet. It's also capable of charging at like 25 watts via Type C, but no need for it, yet. Don't sleep on Car Audio indoors, shit slaps and is a ton of fun, even more fun not having to worry about gas prices and fuel consumption just to get the boom boom on.
most important part that he forgot to include was, which or what or how do we get that rca to iphone adaptor ive been trying to figure this put for days straight if you see this please respond
I also just showed someone this trick with the Rem/Power jumper. I had to do it to test the amp in the car. No power turned out to be a fried remote wire. Wasn't trying to run the amp, but testing it to find out why there was no power. That guy was amazed & bummed. He just bought a new amp thinking the amp fried. Nope, just the remote wire. 😂
I use my mind rite for psu but I’m going to upgrade soon to same ampere you have 120amp my psu rite doing great lokey for me if I play some deferent music I still can make my garage vibrating
hey bro I honestly don’t know much about subwoofers and wiring, could you please help out? I’m getting a sundown 12x v3 soon and need help on choosing an amp and gauge wiring for the sub any help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
That should be good enough to power a 1500 watts amp, I'm personally using a Dell server psu @ 62amps which is good to power up to 750watt amp. Thanks a plenty for video
Do you still have this power supply? How much money 💰? They are from $219 to $ 239 I seen. Are they easy to adjust voltage? What volts did you adjust too? 13-15 volt? Thanks for the video!
Thanks for the reply! I just ordered this same one and hope to learn how to make adjustments. Do you have a setting on the side like numbers or do you have to guess or use a volt meter? If you could do a video on adjusting and how to charge batteries like a car or something? Thanks hope to learn more about this power supply!
Hi, can we connect car stereo head unit to home stereo amplifiers ( not car amplifiers) by taking high level speaker outputs to low level RCA and connecting them to stereo amplifier or AV reciever ? Kindly help .
So if I use the inverter do I need a specific amount of voltage from my house power outlet? For example in cars your electrical usually it’s better to have a higher amp alt and 2 batteries for power. I was wondering what would be the side effect of this?
In another video I saw you used a battery. Do you have to use a battery or can u just use a power supply, and what combo speaker/amp. And if can you just plug the rcas in the back of a receiver and plug in more speakers? I’m new to this stuff, lol
Hai, bro how do i know how current do my car amp need? I had an old car amp at my house and i wanna try hook it up in my room but still confused which power supply had to buy, the only thing i know is it was 12v😅 and also didn't know how power do the power amplifier have, i got that from my uncle, so how do i choose power supply for it? How much amp do it need to play at max vol? Im could afford the cheapest one only tho😅
Which power supply would I need to pick to run 3000w @14.4v amp for my subwoofer in my house? (Its able to run at 12v but it cant run all 3000w unless its at 14.4v)
