At at 9:18 the DIY coupling from a scrap piece looks more secure than the ones you have to buy. Just use one scrap piece over the ends of the two pipe sections, and tape the whole thing up. No need for a second scrap piece over the first piece.
So I've watched a number of videos and have not found the answer to this question: what is the preferred minimum distance from the foundation for a gutter collection system that has to run parallel to the foundation? Can you weigh in?
On the external coupler, you bashed the “big box store pipe” and showed how the coupler didn’t work very well but you were putting a Prinsco external coupler on ADS pipe. You were not using ADS’s external coupler with their pipe. The corrugation patterns are different between the two different companies. If you used ADS’s coupler you wouldn’t have the slop you showed.
Those Prinsco external couplers work fine on ADS pipe when you buy it from a water works store because they sell better quality pipe to them with the original corrugated pattern and thicker side wall. We use these couplers on FDM pipe as well. The low quality pipe that the box stores are getting doesn’t fit well in the couplings and ADS fittings either. It’s a whole mess. They have the wyes and elbows being sold next to this new style of pipe and none of these fittings connect well to it. And ADS big box store external couplers are no good IMO. They make a better one but you won’t find it in a box store.
