I connected the 10 gauge battery wire and the red since wire to the alternator post and tested the excite wire it has power. Excite wire not connected to any thing this seem odd to me the alternator will have power 24/7 . Looking at the alt blade connectors they appear joined together. Suggestion? Great vid
can you tell me sir what is pin on me 12si alternator? be me I have positive linear voltage regulator inside the dashboard I use only pin 1 with baterry bulb the pin 2 is bend inside the alternator me car dont use that pin. I have unusual problem when I use hv capacitors on me ignition system the alternator back charges up to 3000-4000rpm the alternator light come up always below that engine speed so how do I counter that problem???
Jay, I'm Hooking up the plyg into 10si the white wire with the diode , the diode was getting warm I had it hooked to a wire that's 12 v all the time , that's not right . I quickly unhooked that wire . Where does that hot wire go to the alternator ? It's 12 v even with the key off ???
For a given power output the alternator is smaller and lighter than a generator able to put out the same power. Another benefit is that spun too fast the alternator will not come apart like a generator could.
They’re a lot more dependable. My FIL run an auto parts route at the time the alternator’s started getting common and he said the sales dropped drastically compared to the generators. Using a generator at night idling with the lights on most will discharge also
