I have come across this issue while I am setting up a 2.4GHz Wifi environment for my smart device lately. My initial plan is to use the old router and hook up with my TP-Link M4 DECO router, but I realized that the Wifi is not stable and the Wifi will drop line after few days.
So I do some research to understand how to setup the TP-Link M4 DECO router with 2.4GHz, but it is limited information. Luckily I have saw some comment from the TP-Link official chat room and their advice is to setup another Wifi by using Guest Wifi. So I give it a try and it is rather simple to setup and it can connect my Google Home without bring me any drop line issue.
