It worked. Thank you for short and to the point video. I just spent 10 minutes listening to a different guy and he hadn't even gotten to the connection part.
Thanks! Your video really helped. It’s a shame that JBL doesn’t include a simple set of instructions as to how to do this. I managed to connect my speakers in about ten seconds after watching your video. Well done!
You forgot an important troubleshooting point: only one of the speakers can be connected to your audio source. I had both JBL speakers connected via Bluetooth to my phone, then added both to Partyboost, and it caused tons of problems.
@@chumhau6993 I still have. It figured it out... Am trying to connect xtreme 3 to boombox 2 but it's not working. I disconnected the xtreme from my phone and tried connecting it to the boombox. It's not working .
I got 2 partyboost speakers also my freind got 2 JBL partyboost speakers I couldn't connect more than 3 speakers cuz the 4th partyboost speaker wouldn't be available to come on
Unfortunately partyboost is disabled when you connect it in a tv, as soon as you connect it to tv, you cannot even turn on the partyboost icon, it is only designed for music.
I have two Flip 5s, and I find it's a bit of a faff to equalise the volume between the them; I hold each at arm's length and take turns bringing each closer to ear to judge.
I finally figured it out. The JBL app must be installed on your iPad in order for the party boost to work. I still can't get it to work on my MacBook Pro though.
Its absolutely ridiculous that you can't connect the Connect+ and Party Boost speakers with one another. Im never buying another JBL product for this reason.
I feel that, but I think it's the same with a lot of other speaker manufacturers where they do the same thing. So it may not be much better on the other side of the fence, and if it is, you'll probably have to pay up for it.
Agreed! I can't believe, I bought a charge 5 for me, and a charge 4 for my girl, ... for the sole reason we could pair them as a team for great sound, only to find they can't be linked? Bummer. 😢
Cry me a river. It’s called technology. Some things become obsolete, it’s like saying, it’s so ridiculous that my old dvd can’t play on my blue ray console.🙄
When I press the party boost button the speaker that is connected to my device the ring does not light up. The ring will light up that is not connected to the source device. I don't know what I am doing wrong. Tried all of the trouble shooting suggestions. No results. I am looking at both speakers now. The ring is lit on the speaker that is not connected to my device. I press the party boost on the speaker that is connected to the device and the ring will not light up.
Im sorry. can you clarify some. There are 2 sentences that are conflicting. "As a matter of fact JBL PartyBoost lets you connect up to 100 speaker together" and "You can only connect one JBL PartyBoost speaker to another PartyBoost speaker". Can you advise if I have 3 Flip 5's can I link the 3 together?
Sure. You can connect up to 100 JBL Flip 5's together. The second sentence was specifically in regard to the connection technology, which on the Flip 5 is PartyBoost. I was trying to call out that you can only connect a PartyBoost speaker to another PartyBoost speaker, and not to a JBL Connect or JBL Connect+ speaker. I hope that helps.
How easy is to use partyboost in everyday use for pc, phone , ps5? I mean what if i power off the main speaker will the other speaker automatically power off?
I have three flip sixes and I would like to add a larger speaker to the set and that’s why I’m looking at the extreme three. However, the reviews suggest that it is more sensitive to interference than the other JBL party mode speakers. Can you confirm this?
Could you connect JBL Charge 5 with Xtreme 3 and use them in stereo mode? If you could, would the volume differences between the two speakers be a problem or automatically adjusted to the same? Therefore, the loudness is limited by the quieter JBL Charge 5?
Can you aux into one of the speakers and then use that as the source? I am using an ipad with Djay pro and Numark partymix. I want to run the party mix directly into the best speaker but have the rest run on bluetooth.
In Partyboost mode, can I operate one speaker at a lower volume and one speaker at a higher volume? I would like to have one inside our camper (at lower volume) and one outside the camper at higher volume.
Can I sync an extreme 3 with PartyBoost and a Charge 4 with Connect+ together? Because I’m trying to get the Extreme 3 but some say that PartyBoost and Connect+ cannot be sync together, while others say you can. Please help
Hi Mr. Max Dalton! Thank you for your video it was really helpful! I just want to ask, if i connect my flip 5 to chromecast with google tv then would it be possible to use the partyboost function of the flip 5 so that i connect it to jbl xtreme 3? Do you think it would work?
Unfortunately not that I'm aware of. JBL has changed their Bluetooth connection tech every couple of years for a while now. If you don't have devices that both have JBL Connect, JBL Connect + or PartyBoost, you're out of luck.
I have so much trouble connecting my speakers together. Sometime they will connect and I don’t know how I just keep pressing and fooling around until it connects. I’m very unhappy with the connection process. I’m doing something wrong and I’m following the exact instructions and it still won’t connect. when it does I don’t know how I did it. Disappointed
Why does JBL keep changing the multiple speaker connection feature?! So old Connect speakers won't work with older Connect+ speakers, and these two won't work with the current Party Boost speakers?!?! What is the reasoning behind this?!
It might be different Bluetooth versions. Charge 3 uses BT 4.1 and Charge 5 BT 5.1 which gives 2x faster speed, 4x longer distance, much lower power consumption and more reliability. Hence it's possible BT 5.1 to act like 4.1, but I guess they just didn't bother with updating firmware.
Yes because the two different have diferent tec in them and won't connect+ (houwerglass+) won't connect to partyboost(figer 8) that's why i know it not fun but that's wat the scoop is
Sorry if my question sounds stupid but I didn't understand - Can I connect two Flip 5s with one Charge5 so that finally the three speakers play one and the same thing at the same time?
Hey Mr. Max thank you for making this awesome video. Can we connect the JBL flip 5 with the JBL charge 4? I've been trying to and it won't work. What am I doing wrong
Good question. You're not doing anything wrong. Unfortunately the JBL Flip 5 and the JBL Charge 4 use different connection technologies. The Flip 5 uses PartyBoost and the Charge 4 uses JBL Connect+. Conveniently they don't work together. You can only connect a PartyBoost speaker to another JBL PartyBoost speaker. So you can connect a JBL Flip 5 to a JBL Charge 5, or you can connect a JBL Flip 4 to a JBL Charge 4, but you can't connect a Flip 5 to a Charge 4. To be honest, it feels like a marketing gimmick, which is unfortunate, because I generally like JBL speakers. I hope this helped. Have a great weekend!
I was frustrated before, but I get it now. The PartyBoost tech can connect speakers that are up to 80 yards apart, while Connect+ can only connect them over a distance of about 40 yards. I still think it's silly, but I get it now.
@@MaxDalton There is still most likely a marketing incentive behind it - JBL has announced it has no intention of releasing any kind of firmware update to enable backward compatibility. They cite different "hardware," but unless JBL has secretly developed an entirely new wireless communication protocol that they're calling Bluetooth 4.2 and 5.0 (which would be highly impractical - and probably fraud?), there is no reason these devices can't be made compatible through a firmware update.
Bro you throughly confused me… One second you said you can connect 100 party boost speakers…ten seconds later you said you can only connect two speakers together
Basically there are different generations of speakers and the new versions aren't backwards compatible with connecting to older ones. Old ones connect to 100 old ones. New ones connect to 100 new ones.
You said let’s you connect JBL speakers “EASILY” 😂😂😂😂😂 I’ve been here for a half hour trying to connect a Charge 4 & 5 with both having latest firmware and using the JBL app. What a let down. 👎🏾👎🏾
