Can I get a VOIP service with only mobil app no hard phone at all and also can I do this in California and will the VOIP work in Thailand. Or internationally on my cell phone with out some high charges per minute,

What if I don't want to use a mobile app, but only a PC / laptop app? Or maybe an opensource mobile app?

Hi there. What you are referring to is called a "desktop app", which would just utilize a laptop or desktop computer and the headset of your choice to make and receive calls. 👍

That I am aware of, unfortunately NO. Remember, the purpose of a VOIP mobile app is to 100% segregate your personal calls, call logs, texting and voicemail from your business! To allow it to do what you are asking would defeat the purpose of the segregation, which is why most businesses require a mobile app so that their business and personal are truly separate and more secure. A mobile app is a virtual extension that can run on a Android or iPhone based cell phone. It mimmicks your extension via ringing when you recieve calls and even allows you to check all your voicemail and text messages. The beauty of a mobile app is that it is 100% segregated from your personal cell phone data and number, so you can make and recieve calls always appearing to be in the office and NEVER have to give out your cell phone number! Does the simultaneous ring option use wifi or data to work ?

Hi Ana. Simultaneous ring uses 100% your cell phone services on the "talk time" side of your phone, or I guess what you could say is "over the cell towers". If you are using a mobile app, instead of simultaneous ring directly to your cellphone service, the mobile app can use wifi or your cell phone data. Most mobile apps will let you pick which one you want the service to run over at will on the fly in settings. We HIGHLY recommend using the VOIP providers mobile app over simultaneous ring, always! YES you can make outbound calls via a VOIP mobile app on your cell phone. It would show up as your business number, for all calls and texting.

Hi there. That's actually a very good question, and as of right now, i'm not sure that most VOIP service providers have the ability for you to readily see that in your mobile or desktop app. Some of them may have that ability to pull that data in their deeper reporting in the admin portal for your account, but to my knowledge as of yet, I've not seen any VOIP service provider that readily has the ability to show or indicate that a sent text has been seen, opened or read. This is a great question by the way, so let's hope in the near future this particular feature you've mentioned becomes a reality. It would be useful.
