This video will show you how to connect a Hotspot to a Wireless Router to enjoy a solid and stable internet connection in your home or office. Below are the basics on how to connect your devices to a router.

Here are the steps to follow:
Step 1: Turn on your Hotspot and ensure it is connected to the internet.
Step 2: Connect your computer or laptop to the Hotspot's Wi-Fi network.
Step 3: Open a web browser and type in the IP address of your wireless router in the address bar.
Step 4: Enter the username and password for your router to log in to the configuration page.
Step 5: Navigate to the "Wireless Settings" or "Wireless Setup" section of your router's configuration page.
Step 6: Look for the "Wireless Bridge" or "Repeater" option and select it.
Step 7: Enter the Hotspot's Wi-Fi network name and password in the fields provided.
Step 8: Click "Apply" or "Save" to save the changes.
Step 9: Wait for your router to connect with your Hotspot.
Congratulations! You have successfully connected your Hotspot to your Wireless Router. You can now link all your devices to the router's Wi-Fi network and enjoy a stable and fast internet connection.

Under this configuration are you still limited to the 30x device connection max for the Nighthawk or are you now limited to the number of connections the Router supports?

Hi @Majestic. As with any devices, you will have a limited amount of cap for number of connections.

Came here because I am trying to install a security camera however, the camera "home base" needs to be plugged into a router. Plugging it direct to the nighthawk pro doesn't work. Do you believe if i used this method and plugged the home base into the router with the router plugged into the nighthawk, that id be good to go? Thanks for the video!

@garylew548. If your camera requires POE ( Power over Ethernet) to function, then you need a router to be power it. This device is mainly for wireless systems like tablet, laptops, phones..etc. . Also, check the camera specs and make sure the POE port on the router or small hub is higher than what the camera is asking for. Please post your camera make/model here so we can help guide you in the right direction.

@@DiventionTechnologies The camera is a eufy 360 camera Which needs to be connected to the Eufy Home Base S380. REALLY appreciate the help.

So the camera is completely wireless and solar, which seems not to be the issue. The issue more lay with the Home Base. The home base won't take data wireless and needs to be connected via Ethernet.

Do I have to buy a router to use the nighthawk? I have the nighthawk m6 pro hotspot and I can’t get the Ethernet part to work for nothing

Hi @simonejackson5708, If you have a wifi hotspot compatible, you don't need an additional router. That means your device connects directly to the hotspot, and it connects directly to the internet. You only need a router if you have a modem that does' have wireless capability.

Hi @simonejackson5708, So if you have that device in the video, you just need you computer or tablet to connect directly to the hotspot and you're online. If you have service at home, it will be a modem/router combined as one device you purchase through your service provide. I'll end up doing a video soon explaining the two in more detail so place stayed tuned. Let me know if that helps.

I followed the video, problem is I was under the impression that attaching a router to it would unlock the max speed, I’m still only getting around the same speed before hooking the router up and using wifi on it

This devices is more for internet usage when your traveling or on the road trip with the family to do some basic browsing. If you looking for a stable solution at home, I"d recommend not using the devices as your primary device.

Speed test will differ depending on Cell tower location and other factors. Remember it’s not a ISP replacement but mainly to give you internet connectivity for basic web browser on the road.

@@DiventionTechnologies That is understood, thank you. I'm just trying to get a relative idea of terms. At my house, the broadband is around 500mbps, which is fast, but not lightning fast. I know our subjective terms will differ, but anything less than 75 kbps is slow to my general usage. Using cellular data off my ATT phone I get about 34 kbps and although it is fastest enough to play an HD video, this will not do the same for multiple device. I would call this slow. What do you think? In your best case scenario, in multiple locations, what kind of data speeds are you getting? Thanks.

My internet speed of approximately 75.3 Mbps for downloads and 11.17 Mbps for uploads seems quite adequate for simple web browsing and for use during power outages. It's always a good idea to be conscious of data usage, particularly when engaging in activities like gaming or streaming, as they can consume data quickly. I once had a relative who encountered this issue until I explained the importance of managing data consumption.
