This is how to contour and sculpt your face with concealer. It's the ultimate underpainting technique that gives you a soft focus look. This is perfect if you want a flawless finish to your foundation. I'll show you how to use concealer to contour your face and sculpt for depth and definition.
In this makeup video I'll show you step by step how to apply concealer and where to apply it for a contoured and sculpted look. I'll show you how to sculpt your face in detail and the difference it can make to your finished look.

I'm one of those who uses full coverage foundation due to acne scars. I contour after I apply a high coverage foundation and then use the setting powder. This works well for me. You can apply makeup so many different ways. Do what's best for you and your skin type. Nina, can you do a video on countering after foundation has been applied? I'm sure your followers would appreciate it.

I’m new here and have loved your videos. I’ve just started wearing makeup more instead only on sundays and special occasions and have found you so helping. Your the only artist I like to follow and love that you educate. I’ve started wearing contour and am not very educated on makeup. I’m just a little confused but on the lighter concealer. Is that how it feels on my face or shade? If I have contour do I need the third concealer that is several shade darker?? I’ve been subscribed to your channel for a couple months now and I find your videos highly informative and helpful. I absolutely love your channel & im so glad I found it. I can’t wait to try this technique. 1st question, what characteristics should you look for when shopping for a foundation that will work with this? Are they categorized as minimal coverage or sheer coverage vs full coverage. Could you also do a video with the full make up look from start to finish? I would look to see how you apply products on top of your foundation. Im curious if you do further face defining on top of the underpainting. I realize this will be a long video. If you did do this, it may be helpful to put chapters in it

Glad you enjoy the channel Neera :) It's best to find a foundation that has light to medium coverage when using the underpainting technique. For example; Nars light reflecting foundation, Hourglass ambient soft glow foundation, Dior forever matte foundation are all good foundations to use with underpainting. Hope this helps!

I have rosacea. I’ve been told to use a green primer under my foundation. Do I apply the primer then use your highlighting and contour steps on top of the green primer? Hi Nina! I have pitted scars on my nose. Can I still contour it with the dark concealer but not apply the lighter? Or is that pointless? I find the lighter shade really emphasizes my pitted scars. I did watch your pitted scars video and excited to try those techniques as well!

If you have a lot to cover up on your skin and you use a high cover foundation usually try doing this method with a medium coverage foundation because the concealer underneath is already giving you a lot of coverage on your problem areas underneath you're pretty much concealing your whole face the foundation is just to give a light cover over everything so it doesn't look as stark as it does before you put the foundation over the top you will probably find a light coverage foundation will be enough 🥰 and because you've used less foundation on your skin it should help you look less cakey than full coverage foundation can make you look this should be good for mature skin too

What’s the difference between blending black & white contour with wet sponges vs the brushes used on this video? I use wet sponges based on your previous videos but have been interested in switching to brush.
