keep in mind that its not going to work with every game unfortunately. I tried a PS4 controller with DMC HD Collection and for some reason the game couldn’t read the controller inputs. Its not a huge issue since the game is also available on ps4 & XB1. I then tried Star Ocean International and everything on the controller worked except the left analog stick. So I couldn’t move my character at all. Finally I tried Castlevania Lord of Shadow and The exact same problem occurred where the Left analog stick wouldn’t Respond. This is something to try with every game in your library to see what works and what doesn’t. Its unfortunate that the PS4 controller will most likely not work with many games. Btw I tried these games with two different controls and the results were the same.
Me and my dad love the black ops games on ps3 but he only has one ps3 controller so I used the wireless version of this and it works really well me and my dad are now being able to play our favourite games together which is awesome! I did have a ps3 but I sold it when I got my PS4 and I regret it a lot. If anyone is getting a PS4 don’t sell ur ps3 it has some awesome games on that console Thanks for reading if u made it this far 😂
The options button works as the start button, the share is select. The only ones that don't work are the Playstation button, and the touch pad. Works great for Batman Arkham Origins. As long as you have it plugged in seems to work for any game ive tried.
Be sure to update your ps3 to use your dualshock4 wirelessly. You can do it by scanning for bluetooth devices after you hold PS+Share buttons for about 10 seconds until its lights start to blink (fast).
GASP!!!!! What I need to know is whether the system will know to switch R1 and L1 for R2 and L2 when it comes to shooters. Because the DS4's R2 and L2 are made to be the main shoulder buttons, which isn't the case on PS3.
Tried it on Prince of Persia Trilogy, worked just fine glad to say. Really don't understand why the home button won't work for it otherwise I'd never use DS3 due to the fact I have DS4. Only time I won't use DS4 is on PlayStation 1 or 2.
Work fine with Bioshock Infinite. But I wish there was a control scheme to allow R2 and L2 as the aim and shoot buttons. The new triggers are orgasmic, and I wanna try them out.
Im able to use the dualshock with battlefield 3, and I would assume it will work for BF4, I figured the share button acts as the select button and the option button is regular start. Every button seems to work fine, however the playstation button is non functional.
I think it is just more of that the PS3 supports any direct input controller (any wired controller that isn't the 360 controller) if you have a usb adapter for any classic game controller, lets use game cube for example, you could use the game cube controller on the ps3.
Yes I've heard. Never really had any trouble with the original Ps3 controller though. I'm sure this one is a bit nicer, but when half the functuonality isn't there on a Ps3 (you still need a DS3 for the PsHome button) I can't see why anyone would bother. I certainly won't at least.
Actually You can have Rumble and working PS button if U use it like PS2 dualshock. If you connect together 2 adaptors. USB to PS2 and Brook Wireless adaptor for Dualshock4/3 for PS2 . Looks little bit weird but it is working better than official way. Your welcome.
Killzone shadow fall looks good. I think its going to put the killzone franchise on the must have games. It took call of duty 4 tries to blow up, Killzone also has color now took them long enough
If you have a Sony tv, you can use the Sync Menu (Bravia Sync) feature on the remote to get to the PS3 menu as long as you have HDMI control enabled on the PS3. That way you don't have to rely on the PS3 controller to quit the game.
Bought a used PS3 recently to play older games-the PS3 controller it came with sort of went dead (I think the charger cable they sent me doesn't work) so I used my PS4's Dualshock 4 on a USB cable and it works fine-ish, I've only tried GTA IV (Complete Edition) so far and it works pretty alright, although without the home key, if I want to exit out, I pretty much have to turn the console off and on. It's not the worst but it's annoying. Just to confirm since I never owned a PS3 before (I was pretty much Xbox on that generation) is there a way to make the standard controller work wirelessly?
Raphael Salazar Yep you can use your PS4 Controller for PS3 Console. But it is much better to have a backup PS3 controller with working PS home button, so that you will only use it to quit games.
stupid question but how exactly do you pause the games on the ps4? is it so focused on hardcore gamers that you can't pause it? i'm pretty sure there's a way but it wounld't make much sense if the pause button was the "options"
Does the ps4 controller motion work on the ps3 because I'm playing sly Cooper and im on the part where I have to capture some fish by moving controller with the motion thing, so how do I fix it or I doesn't work on those types of games?
Sony needs to make an update where the DualShock 4 ps button works, so we can actually turn the system on and off. What are we supposed to do now that it’s so much harder to get DualShock 3 controllers??? Step it up Sony…
No The DualShock 4 has digital buttons, which will make playing MGS4 impossible as CQC attacks and throwing grenades relies on the DS3's pressure sensitive buttons.
