Thank you so much!! I knew this project would be easy but couldn’t find anything helpful to guide me. I just picked up this beautiful luminaire chandelier for 50 bucks and I didn’t want to full on install a ceiling light, this is way better! Thank you again!!
my ceiling fan broke it so i had to buy a fully new one, with the light part and everything, so i have a chandelier laying around, i was planning on transforming in a lamp thx man
What about the exposed wiring on sides of the plug before you put the cover back on? Is that safe? Want to convert my indoor chandelier to outdoor one have to change the hardwire to plug. The exposed wires worries me don’t want a fire.
I'd imagine you probably could, but you'd have to install a dimmer in-between the plug and light so that it would actually be able to regulate the voltage/current.
Sloppy work! He should have used a modern polarized plug connecting the white wire to the wide prong. He left unjacketed wire extending from the plug. The jacket reduces wire flexing from whatever reason (wind if outside, handling etc. if inside) and is an extra layer of insulation over the wires. The frayed wire strands around the screw terminals are not lethal but just more sloppy work.
Hello Bill you seem really knowledgeable and I want to do this but with a longer cord that has an on and off switch! Could that be done? And if so how, I live in an old victorian and where I want to put it requires this modification....I am looking for a tutorial but I'm not getting exactly what I'm looking for and I want to do a good job and have it safe for my home! Any pointers to do a good job would be helpful! I would lobby the same question to the OP of this vedio!
Why is this wrong? I want to do this with track lighting for shows. You say this twice but offer no corrections. I'm not being snippy, I just want to know.
