Hi Keith, thanks for this informative video. Just to clarify one aspect of the conversion process, can the verification of hours and experience happen soon after the medical is done or is there some paperwork that needs to come through from Transport Canada first? Thanks a lot.
Thank you for the informative video. If you can please share information on how to convert the type rating on my icao licence to transport Canada licence it would be really helpful. Thanks in advance
Hey Kenny W, you have to contact a local flying club in Canada. You would fly with an instructor for a few hours to learn the airplane and then do a TC CPL flight test and Instrument Rating flight test.
You must also get a TC Category 1 medical. I have the link in the video. Then also do the written test for both 1) CPL or ATPL and 2) Instrument Rating. I have my own instrument rating prep course.
I have an ATPL with A320 rating, how can i find an instructor and a full simulator? I have explored the Transport Canada website over the past two days, the only problem for me is the skill requirement, cause i am not familiar with with the training system. Ths!@@keithdmello
Thank you so much for your advices. This is exactly what I am looking for. May I ask a bit more about the step one? as I am holding Australian license ,how am I supposed to book a CAME in my town for a Canadian class one medical without any type of Canadian license or permit?
Hi, I am currently holding an ICAO ATP license and preparing for the written exams. I would like to ask if it is required to bring all the logbooks to Transport Canada for the verification or if the last(current) logbook is enough for this process.
Hey Keith, thanks for the great video. This is exactly what I've been looking for! I am brazilian and in my country logbooks are paperless (mandatory - and the logbook in paper is optional) and I wonder how I can submit proof of experience. How you ever gone through this? Do you know how to proceed? Thank you!
Hey Fabio thanks for checking out this video. You should be able to submit proof of experience by scanning or submitting an online copy. I would call transport canada and ask.
Thank you Keith for your crisp but informative video. You said sometimes it may take long time to process the medical. I just wanted to know does it take long time to get the medical appointment or you meant after medical it takes long time to process it?
Thanks for your reply. Just one more question. Do I need to pay any fee from the transport canada web site before to have the medical exam or certificate?
Hi Captain,I have a Australian CPL. I would like to convert it into Canadian one,but I have't been flying for 5 years. Are the conversion steps still the same as you talked about in this video. Thank you very much.
Hey man, just stumbled on your video. Im interested in getting a Transport Canada ATPL. I have an ICAO ATPL and type rated on the 777 with over 1000 hours and counting. Also I am a canadian citizen. Is it posible to hold 2 ATPLs and the practical test can it be done on a 777 sim? Thanks
Nice to see you again Keith !! I just have a question- How easy or how tough it is to get into any flying jobs immediately after our CPL to build our hours to 1500. What are some of best and easiest ways to do that? 😊
It's quite tough tbh. You can desperate yourself from others by having an aviation related job such as ramp/dispatch, have a good resume, asking for internal references etc.
Hey Keith. I have 2200+ flying hours as an Instructor and will be moving to CA end of this year. But the main CPL requirements for TC are bit different in terms of Solo flying hours than what i have. What can be done in this regard considering my Experience. Please reply
what if I did my CPL+IFR (no multi) in Canada a couple years ago? my class 1 and booklet is expired as is my IFR I imagine, I've been flying in an airlines in an ICAO country in the Bus.
I am a qualified ICAO CPL pilot with 3 years of flight instructor experience . I recently received my IEC working holiday visa and really hope that this is my ticket into the Canadian aviation industry. Where would be the best places to start looking for work once I completed my conversion?
I have a FAA CPL IFR Multiengine. Friends of mine are converting their license to Canada and they have been waiting nearly a year now for their license. Are times like that or do you know how likely is it gonna be for license to be issued to you?
