This video is absolutely amazing. But I’m my opinion, dividing the denominator by the numerator, gives you the recurring decimal quicker. For example, if you wanted to convert 3/15, divide 3 by the 15. This method will help with harder multiplication.

Completely true, however this video shows you how to do it if it is asked in a non-calculator paper.

@@poppyruben6523 year 9. I just want to mention something. As you are year 11, the only videos you should really be watching to revise on are gcse videos. This video specifically is for people just learning to convert fractions to recurring decimals. I’m not sure about you but I learned this for the first time in year 8. I’m not trying to be rude or anything so I apologise if I’m coming across like that. Just wanted to point something out 👌

How do you express 17/66 as a recurring decimal? 66 can be multiplied by 1.5 to give you 99,buy when you multiply 17 by 1.5,you don't get a whole number. @COGNITO math pls reply this comment. Thks

Times 2 and three by three to get 6/9
@wg8375
@wg8375 3 года назад
It's a rule. The demoninator must only contain 9/9s. so for 2/3 , to make to 9 the denominator you have to times the denominator (which is 3) by 3 to give us 9. Which means you have to the same for the numerator (which is 2). So 2 times 3 equals 6. Which gives an answer of 6/9. To convert this into a decimal watch from 3:34

So basically if u have something that doesn’t have 9 or 99 or 999 and etc. Bellow u have to change it in to 9 depending of how much digits there are if u had 3 digits u change it into 999 and the number on the top will be multiplied by 3 if there is 999 on the bottom and 2 digits on the top u change it into 0.0???? Depends on the number if they are all the same amount of digits you can put 0.????? Depends on the number on top
