How to convert Kindle Books to PDF - All books including DRM protected | no calibre | Free Software 

Hi I'm sorry for the long winded message but am not a tech savvy person and spent way too much on Kindle ebooks, only to find I can't mark them even on my e-ink device. Before I try your method, I've installed and uninstalled some Kindle and Calibre, Plug-ins already.. I have a Surface Pro 7, Windows 10.. I don't have an actual physical Kindle device.. I have an Onyx Boox Note Air which is Android.. I wish to convert my Kindle asw/ KFX files into PDFs so that I can write notes ON them.. on my Onyx Boox E-ink Tablet. I have the 1.24 Kindle app atm.. and have Calibre 5.10.1.. and installed the Plugins Conversion input KFX Input (1.36.0) by jhowell Convert from Amazon KFX format File type DeDRM (7.0.0) by Apprentice Alf, Aprentice Harper, The Dark Reverser and i'cabbages Removes DRM from Amazon Kindle, Adobe Adept (including Kobo), Barnes & Noble, Mobipocket and eReader ebooks. Credit given to i'cabbages and The Dark Reverser for the original stand-alone scripts. Gather KFX-ZIP (from KFX Input) (1.36.0) by jhowell Import Amazon KFX format Pt 1 - Gather the files that make up a book into KFX-ZIP Package KFX (from KFX Input) (1.36.0) by jhowell Import Amazon KFX format Pt 2 - package a KFX-ZIP book into monolithic KFX Metadata reader KFX metadata reader (from KFX Input) (1.36.0) by jhowell Read metadata from monolithic KFX files and KFX-ZIP archives User interface action Search The Internet (1.8.1) by Grant Drake Search various websites for the selected books They've installed however I'm still getting, 'Cannot Convert' - This book is locked by DRM.. etc I tried to convert a kindle ebook azw file.. which shows up as kfx on Calibre and I'm trying to convert it to pdf Do you know what I've done wrong/ if I've done anything wrong? or has Amazon simply modified the KFX thing again? @@cass8330 Sorry to know that you weren't able to convert Kindle to PDF, but please try this method it will work regardless of any types of books as long as you can open it on your kindle. Some books with DRM doesn't seem to easily get converted using calibre, but this method doesn't use any type of such applications instead captures the screen so you should be able to convert it as required. 6/20/2023: Script works awesome.. note to newbies: use Notepad to copy and paste script, omit "//" line, change file extension from "txt" to "ahk" when you double click the file to run it, windows will ask you to install version 1+ of Auto Hot Key: remember 'F1' key starts script, and 'F2' stops script

I'm interested in it, do you have any video where everything is explained?? I do want to save time by removing all the unnecessary software downloading!! If possible of course...

I noticed on the atomi ActivePresenter that there was a tab for PDF next to Video. Won't that be easier than having to video capture the image?

Why did you want them as pdf? I just found out how the buying of ebooks process works and didn't like it at all (I suppose I should've read the terms of services) and basically am trying to find a way to secure the files of the books I have purchased for myself. Is this a good method? It's OK if you know nothing about the matter.

@@krannz Nic • 2 months ago If using a phone/tablet simply download Google keep and screen shot what you want to copy/paste then click add image click the 3 dots and click Grab text from image. You can then copy/paste the text from google keep bypassing DRM :) There I just used google keep notes to screen capture my comment then used "Capture image text" to upload this comment text from 2 months ago 😁

That's strange, what did you do? Coz we are only using simple software (for Win actually).

I had the same issue

To save your kindle books...different reasons like u cancel your membership, or using it in other platforms, u could b a teacher n want to shar partial parts with students etc

Hi Troncos - It was supposed to be made easily available as a PDF to read on devices that don't have a kindle and not actually make it editable. Anyway, you can though try to convert the image to a doc file..!
