Final jetting specs below. PLEASE BE AWARE; you NEED to drain the E85 out of the float bowl if the bike is going to sit, corrosion happens fast with alcohol. You can start getting little flakes as quickly as 24 hours, so BE AWARE. Most carbs are made from aluminum or zinc, both of which will corrode quickly in the presence of alcohol. FINAL JETTING - 1/8" drilled out main jet Two PowerJets Cranked full open (www.thunderproducts.com) Needle Jet Bottom Clip, Sanded down .008" from standard, and about .010" sanding on the "tapered" portion Accelerator Pump - No travel Limit, comes on at 1/8 throttle Pump Jet - Std. 40 Pilot Jet
This stuff you do, these turbocharged bikes (especially the BUELLs) are my favorite! Though I appreciate all the scrambler style bikes you do too. Great Job
Yes, it's this simple. Much easier with a wideband though, and you should be very, very comfortable with jetting by ear and feel if not. When you sand the needle, you don't need to enlarge the pilot jet nearly as much. In fact, if you sand it enough, you could keep the pilot jet close to the same as pump gas. Just go much, much bigger on the main jet.
@@DoctormotorcycleToo Thank you for replying. ok, next question: are there companies out there (in the UK) that offer this service (and associated guarantee)? :)
If I wasn't old, sick & broke I'd go to your patreon so I learn how to turbo/E85 my 2000 Buell M2....... I'm thinking about selling my motorcycles & building a legal 750w mid drive fully enclosed electric reverse trike.(a 750w enclosed recumbent e-bike so it's technically legal) Something that looks like the Trisled Aquila3 with some fold-out roof top solar panels for recharging. No gas, license, registration, insurance, expensive maintenance needed with a 55-65 HWY cruising speed. So I can afford to travel on a low fixed income. Made of mostly bike & e-bike parts so parts are easy to get. The lightweight enclosure makes it faster/aerodynamic/more range efficient & keeps the rain & cold off you. With a little trunk in the behind the seat that can hold 4 bags of groceries. The average person can pedal one to 35 mph easy so I'm hoping a geared 750w mid drive electric motor could do 55 in over drive gear. I know a 3,000w hub motor will do 55 easy.
Thank you man! I been wondering how to do this I am gonna boost my TRX450R using a GT 15 Turbo and wanna run E-85. How did you manage to make the Accelerator Pump work with E-85 just drill it out 2 or 3 sizes bigger too?
No problem. The accelerator pump wasn't modified, I just adjusted it to come on as soon as the throttle moved. For an FCR I'd do the o-ring mod and change out the "starter jet" for an upsized one. My suggestion would be to do that very last after the Pilot/Needle/Main are good to go. If you're keeping the FCR39 I'd start with a 62 Pilot jet, a richer than stock needle from jetsrus.com, and either a large (260) main jet or a 210-220ish MJ with a Thunder Products Power Jet cranked full open.
