My son died 3 years ago at the age of 27. He was who I cooked for. I have had no desire to be in the kitchen since. Thank you for being an inspiration to help me get in there and just do it. I put you on and listen to you while I get things done in the kitchen. Thank you so much. You are a blessing. I know you understand. The last year has been hard for you. So glad you are back to doing what you do. We appreciate you. Prayers for you and yours always.
Tip:Celery leaves are a great source of flavor.Becky at Acre Homestead taught me to use the back of the knife instead of the blade to scrape the food off of your cutting boards. Thanks for the video
Hi Jamerrill! I LOVE LOVE LOVE your hair in the Side Bun and tendrils! You look like a beautiful Swedish/German/Dutch Gal! I love that look on you! This was a fun friend get-together for your freezer cooking! Thank You for inviting us over! You make my day as I know you do for so many other Subscribers and Visitors to your channel. God bless you and your family. See you next time! 🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻
1:05:36 Jamerill I agree with you. There is something incredibly special about women working in the kitchen together. That's my favorite part of the holidays - having my daughter & granddaughter (&bonus daughters) in the kitchen working together, laughing talking. I think this is such a wonderful idea to do this in the late days of Spring to prepare for summer. It's supposed to rain this weekend, so I'm going to start planning now. Thank you for such a wonderful idea!
A tip with onions. Soak them for a short while in water and you will find them so much easier to peel. We cut up 30kg at a time and always do this. We take the tops off under water as we take them out and that cuts down on the amount of onion vapour in the air too. I have noticed that once I get over the initial watery eyes it doesn't worry me for the rest of the time. Greetings from 5.30am on the east mid coast of Australia.
Onions make me cry too-I get a damp paper towel and put it between me and the onion and it does work wonders.I don’t understand howJamerrill has not surpassed 1mil.she is so deserving of it
🤓Sulfenic acid from the onion is volatile and is attracted to water which creates a chemical reaction making sulfuric acid. The acid reacts with the water in the paper towel before reaching the water in your eyes. 🤓
A food processor would be a great help to you for all the prepping and chopping of vegetables, it will save you so much time, you could peel a huge bag of onions, or carrots, and bag and freeze and use when needed. 💐
Enjoyed watching the video. Really appreciated seeing what the end product looks like. I also appreciate that you make nightly dinner options for your folks.
In certain areas, such as the Amish community of women often get together and cook large meals for their families and other families in the community. Wouldn’t the world be better off if we all got together and shared the load of work? I believe we could do so much better if we all did that. God bless
Yay!!!! I just started this too love cooking ahead when I can. ❤💪 👏 Wonderful Job even as a busy Mama and Business Lady you’re still getting things done! Proud of you 🌺🙏
Love this videos! So many great ideas and tips. My husband and I have strict dietary issues but it doesn’t mean I still can’t learn something new or adapt a recipe you share. I’m having two surgeries coming up and I’m going to be laid up for a couple months. I made 12 different freezer meals with multiples of single portion servings. So when I come home and only want soup hubby can heat up soup for me and pick a meal for himself. Today I finished up, I made pizza toppings for mini low carb pizzas we like. I cooked up 5 pounds of Italian sausage, 2 pounds of mushrooms and 1 pound of pepperoni. I chopped the mushrooms and pepperoni in the food processor and then added them to the pan with the sausage. After everything was cooked I drained the mixture and placed 2 cups of the mixture in a bag and vacuum sealed them. For a total of 11 bags. So we can have mini pizzas 11 times. And it doesn’t matter how long it’s in the freezer because it’s vacuum sealed. Thanks for the educational videos and always saying “adapt, adapt, adapt. ❤
Chicken with apricot preserves and Russian salad dressing and a little onion baked is very good. Your helper Heidi is a real worker Such a great helper.😊
❤❤❤love, love your stories how people have used your recipes. Our teen moms that do not have family support need as much love and mentoring possible. They need to hear they can do it no matter what the rest of the world tells them. You do not have to be 30 to be a good new mom. What you have to give is enough!
I’ve done this a couple times now and on busy nights it’s such a blessing!! most recipes cook in just a couple minutes in the instant pot. I like to put bouillon in when it calls for both so day of only water is needed. ❤Thanks for the inspiration to do it again!
@jamerrillstewart just a tip I learned from the comments on one of Becky's videos, use a bench scraper or the non sharp edge of your awesome knife to scrape your cutting board, or the awesome sharp knife will not be that way for very long.
I used to do this with a friend regularly when our kids were little. It was so much FUN and really helpful in keeping my family fed good homemade food in a busy season of life!!! Thanks for sharing :) FUN!
You guys looked like you were having so much fun. I want to come and cook with y'all! But alas I cake baking going on here. May is birthday season in our family. Tonight I'm making John's Bundt Carrot Cake with cream cheese frosting. surprises in the middle. So fun!
Yes. It's wooster sauce. I'm not a mama, but I count myself as a mega-parent. I cooked meals for twelve every day. My children are all grown up now, but these videos always bring back a lot of memories and fresh ideas for my grandies.
The Dollar Tree has meat mashers with Betty Crocker labels that are excellent. They are red and white, have 5 blades and work great! And they're around $1.00.
I’m going through a really hard time right now and I get so excited when I see you videos because I can watch and get away from my problems thank you jamerril for your videos
I am so very sorry to hear about your current hard time. I pray you’re able to get through the storm peaceably. Blessings to you and thanks so much for watching, friend. 🌸🌸🌸
Your video has kept me company tonight while I was cooking and prepping for the week. I was laughing at your friend struggling with the onions while I was struggling with my own onion tears. 😂
Sweetheart why not use a chopper or food processor to slice & process the veggies. I have RA & I can’t slice or dice without so much pain. This will make the process easier. Especially with veggies like regular potatoes sweet potatoes carrots onions & celery..
Hi Heidi and Jo, nice to meet you!! Some of my fondest memories are cooking in the kitchen with my daughter at my side, beautiful memories are made in the kitchen. Oh my gosh, onions can be brutal. I have heard if you put them under water, it makes it easier on the eyes. I've never tried it personally, because it just sounds to messy. Oh my gosh, sweet potato chili sounds delicious. I have to try this one.
You are an absolute ROCK STAR. You're looking great! Love the dress and earrings. When you said "Lets cook bacon and act like I have cooked bacon before" sums up my whole attitude in the kitchen and somehow it comes out great. Thanks for your videos and for sharing your life with us. Such a proud moment to show your friends in the kitchen basically they are on TV! Surreal moment when you realize the following your channel has and the people that truly care for you and cheer you on. Like I said, your not just a mega mama, you're a F'ing rock star!
I do the same "bacon in a pot" trick using a cast iron dutch oven or a chicken fryer pan with lid... works great! No splattered oven to clean and you can save your bacon fat more easily if you wish to ❤
I’ve got the same meat masher as you I got it from Temu. I also got the stands for the zippy bags so much easier when filling them for the freezer. Love watching you and the family xx
You can use Pork panko and shaky cheese mixed together to bread things and it is very good. I have fried chicken, green tomatoes, squash and zucchini so far with it. And my gluten free kid loves it. You do have to check things even canned meets. I was shocked what all they put gluten in.
You make my mood so happy no matter what is going on I can turn on a video, it doesn't matter new or old and a sense of peace and calm comes over me with lots of laughter along with it and for that I thank you. By the way, you don't happen to know the brand and color of nail polish you are wearing while doing all this cooking in this video, do you??? It's very pretty. Have a blessed day. Til the next video😶
An interesting idea for your monthly video would be having Mr Mixer (the inventor of the RverDime-THE kitchen aid mixer solution) speak/demo. He shows how to clean the grease out of your mixer (and do some basic repairs)
