Been cooking lobster for 40 years, myself and 5 family members are lobster fishermen. you never boil lobster you steam them in 2 inches of water, and you opened the tails wrong always slice down the center of the tail to remove the intestine running through their tail. Just like shrimp, lobsters have their intestine running through their tail. Remove it by cutting down the center of the tail with a sharp knife, and then carefully pulling out the intestine, just like you would do to devein a shrimp.

Never boil lobster, steam it, that's how all the shack's up here in Maine cook em, one or two inches of water at most in the pot will do it. Bring it to boil dump em in , doesn't matter what size they are. After about 15-20 minutes their done when you can pull their antenna off, simple. Fished these bugs for years offshore and have no interest in eating em, I prefer a fresh off the boat piece of haddock or cod any day.
👎 There are several ways for you to kill the lobster as humanely as possible with less pain and suffering. I eat lobster, shrimp, crab and try my best to minimize their suffering and for me the best alternative is to put in a container with plenty of ice and water which the animal erases very quickly thus suffering much less
You have No idea what you're doing. You're supposed to put it in head first. Instead, you put it in tail first and the claws prevented the lobster from going into the water because your pot is too small. Disaster

Will prob keep cooking them alive till it's illegal to do so where l live.. I do know one thing, if it ever becomes like the Swiss the only way a lobster can be killed is by shock because it's more humane then I'm done eating lobster.. Hmm, think we stopped using the electric chair years ago because how inhumane it is for humans.
@Darren D right you are, I would never cook a warm blooded animal alive. Am not saying I'm right, just l see shellfish in a different light. It's always lobster and crab that are talked about. No one ever talks about how shrimp/prawns, oysters, clams, scallops etc are harvested and cooked.

Who fucking cares, killing it by boiling it or by stabbing it makes no differences since it's dead anyway. FFS people why can lions slaughter other animals for food but we can't boil a live lobster? It is cooked alive because it contains dangerous bacteria that spread rapidly after it dies. Anyway as I said, it doesn't matter because whatever way you kill it, it will suffer.

Eating meat is not for you then. Nothing wrong with being a vegetarian. Just remember any meat (Beef,Pork,Poultry,Fish,seafood) you eat, it died first. If something dying so you can eat bothers you, stop eating it. It leaves more for those of us who enjoy eating meat. Yummmm....

Depends on what he's cooking it for. Some dishes call for sauteed lobster so the par-boiled lobster will then finish cooking in the pan and not be over cooked.
I'm sure this falls foul of the basic laws of being a human binding on all humanity (Laws of Noah, Noahide laws). One cannot cause pain and suffering to a live animal, one may not eat the limb of a living animal.
@@robinanwaldt It has been proven by scientists that lobsters subjected to such a method of killing, that their nerveous system becomes extremely agitated. I also consider is wiser to just kill its brain quickly with a knife. Then I know its dead prior to steaming. Doesn't take that much effort to be sure.
@@baha3alshamari152 He could have killed the lobster by running a knife blade though the head then stuck it in the hot water immediately after killing it. No rotting of the meat. No food poisoning nothing and it was done humanly.
