One thing I love about these videos is he starts off letting you know what he is using and to use whatever the hell you want to use. And the final result is always superb
Kosmo I absolutely love watching your grilling videos for sure!!! Oh and those beef short ribs turned out amazing I thought even for my first time ever trying to smoke anything ever!!! They could have been a little more juicy but they had enough!!!
I had Kosmo Cow Cover and Dirty Bird to put on my steak and it was great. I didn't do the grind at the end but the flavor was amazing. I added 1 Chipotle pepper to half a stick a butter and that was a nice heat kick. As Darian says you do you.
Hey, Kosmos? I love your channel! Your methods are absolute Bible to me! With that being said, I have a question that might be a little bit of a challenge for you, if I may. I'm an amateur who's improved dramatically thanks to watching you. I have a fold up, square grill I got for $59 and my girlfriend has a cheaper round gas grill. Do you have methods that could help us more....ummm....ecomically disadvantaged folks more? Thanks, Kosmo's! Not trying to poke the bear.
Check out our Weber Kettle videos! They'll be a big help. The most important thing is trial and error. Once you get it figured out, stick with what works.
Do you let the steak sit out the whole hour or do you put it in the fridge. A friend recently showed me that you kosher salt one side of the steak and let it rest on the counter until it sweats, THEN add additional seasonings (like granulated garlic and pepper). Then let it sit for a bit longer, flip it over and repeat on the other side. It seeps all that goodness back into the steak better than putting all three on at once (supposedly). I tried it and it was noticeably better than adding all the spices at once.
We've had this one forever, but this set is very similar - www.amazon.com/Latent-Epicure-Battery-Operated-Grinder/dp/B01A39TKLW/ref=sr_1_19_sspa?crid=26DTS7HRU61F1&keywords=black+electric+pepper+grinder&qid=1661437399&sprefix=black+electric+pepper+grinder%2Caps%2C80&sr=8-19-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEyR1c5TlhNMlZPME4zJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwMzg1OTMyMzdUVVdDMTlXNEg4QyZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUExMDMwODExRkQxVkRVS0lUUTQzJndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3BfbXRmJmFjdGlvbj1jbGlja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ==
Butter, or booter? You’re still cooking it comp style. At home the only way to go is using the backside of the grill grates. Get that nice even sear on the entire steak.
Great video 😍 my perfect doneness! Where can I purchase the grate from, perhaps it's a grate from Hasty Bake? Kind of hard to tell from the angle shots of the video.

Dude I was wondering where the shit y’all went.. RU-vid doesn’t give me updates when you guys upload.. I haven’t gotten a notification in over a year… I had to go searching for you guys…
Dang! Make sure you've still got notifications on because we've been putting new videos out every two weeks since March! Glad you found your way back, appreciate you 👊🏼💥
Hey Q! I have purchased thousands in your seasoning. No other seasoning comes close. Can I use that grill rack for the awesome hash marks? I have a master built 560. Where do you get it from. Also. What thermo probe do you use? Thanks
Appreciate you! The grill grate is KEY for awesome hashmarks, we get ours from GrillGrate: www.grillgrate.com/ Thermo probe is the ThermoPro ThermaPen: www.thermoworks.com/thermapen-one/
I watched your other video on How to Cook a Ribeye Steak and cooked just like in 2015 we won the world steak championship. You said to use Cow Cover Hot. So I bought it and love it. But watching this video you say use, Sizzlin Burger Rub & Garlic Jalapeno Rub. So which one is the best? I just ordered the Duck Fat spray. Thanks
All these rubs by Kosmo and all the other RU-vid chefs need to be used sparingly for best results. Way too salty if you load it on like their videos show. Don't get me wrong, I love their rubs but not at the same level they apply them.
Quick tip for a better steak. Wrap the steak in three layers of paper towels. Put in frig on a pan over night. Flip steaks over in the morning. Remove paper towels in the evening and repeat for one more day. Take out the steaks on evening two. Let them get to room temp before cooking. Believe it or not. This is like a short two day dry aging. You won't believe how much better your steak will taste.
Awesome job - but a waste of some good charcoal - please tell me you use it to cook something else - I cannot waste that heat - maybe some onions and peppers - mushrooms - grilled corn.
I can't stand how these guys try and sell their seasoning! Salt, pepper, garlic powder and butter is all you need! I would never use a rub on a good ribeye!
recently gifted the 'seasoning" , so i' thought i'd at least watch a video.... lol nothing new here, just another guy cooking a steak, its not rocket science. seasoning isn't the best, but its certainly not the worst.
To much work. Weight on the steak, duck fat and more. Get your charcoal grill screaming hot, like 700° hot and Kingsford will do it. Skip the fancy ass charcoal. Throw that steak right in the center of those coals on the grate. 30 seconds and rotate, not flip. Another 30 seconds and then flip. Same thing on the other side. Want it done more, leave it on longer. We'll done is a mortal sin. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.
Kingsford is what my dad used because that’s all there was. Kingsford is full of fillers and the loss you get by time it’s ready to dump is way too much. I personally use B&B
