They've said in articles that they use Portuguese sausages for the Rontos, and when my sister and I tasted it, we agreed that it was close to a Portuguese chouriço/linguica in flavor (note: these are different from Spanish or Mexican Chorizos)-- like Spanish chorizo, this sausage has paprika, garlic, black pepper, and salt, but is heavier on the non-paprika ingredients and includes wine, as well. Even if you can't get portuguese sausage, you'll have a closer taste with Spanish chorizo or if you look for those ingredients
Ordinary Adventures They’re found in weird places. In VONS they’re not with the raw meat or sausages but rather next to the Pre-Cooked Bacon and prepared foods. Food for thought, it would make a big difference in the recipe. 🙂
Rock and Roll Ralph’s literally more dangerous with those crowds than my entire flight home from Florida . Good job on the Ronto Wraps I love those things
Man we got out of there after only a few minutes. We felt so uncomfortable. The other Ralph’s we went to on La Brea and Santa Monica was empty and all good.
As a professional chef, I can honestly say I’d happily watch the shit out of any cooking videos you make when you can’t hit the parks. Loved this. More please.
Easily one of your BEST videos! I'd really love to see more cooking videos, doesn't necessarily have to be Galaxy's Edge food, but maybe other foods from around the Disney parks. Great job, guys.
This was a fabulous way to deliver the content you guys are known for while being quarantined. You should consider doing these for your favorite Disney/Galaxy's Edge/Orlando park foods. I really want to try these at home now! Thanks!!!
Guys i have to say you do a great job with your videos, even the editing, top notch! Thanks for give us a way to enjoy Disney even when we are not there. thinking about trying this one with the kids! thanks for taking us on this adventure looking forward to seeing more adventures! stay safe!
Cooking absolutely IS an "ordinary adventure"! Kitra, if you had ever seen my daughter cook, you would suddenly feel like a total pro...in the end, doesn't matter how it looks or how you got to the finished product...if it doesn't kill you, it's a success!
One thing I love about these videos. It proves that Disneyland has good food. It may be a bit pricey, but it's on a totally different level compared to most amusement park foods. I have a severe dairy allergy and they made me a pizza with non-dairy cheese and made it on separate equipment. It took a bit to get, but oh man was it good.
Like the old song says ,You don't miss what you've got till it's gone. Apreaciate your efforts to keep us informed and entertained. No trips for me till next year ,you are keeping my SWGE hope alive .
Me seeing Kitra pick out Italian sausage “No! Not Italian! Wrong sausage!” 😆 It’s okay, that’s all there was to pick from. As long as it tastes good. After this lock down you might want to try some smoked pork sausage from a good European deli shop. Looking forward to your next foray into the kitchen. 👍🏻
I’m so excited that you guys tried my recipe, you did an outstanding job, I know you doubted your skills but you can cook! They aren’t as good as the OG Ronto Wraps but they will do when the park is closed or you live a few thousand miles from the nearest Galaxy’s Edge like I do. Glad you enjoyed! Also, I had trouble finding pita bread near me too, so I made mine from scratch, turns out it’s actually just a vegan food normally!
I really enjoyed this. A true "ordinary adventure"! I'm also not great at cooking - so watching actual normal people cooking was great for me! made me feel like I could do it. Also - loved the make shift roasting rack!
Just wanted to give a big THUMBS UP to this video! My wife and I love watching your channel mainly because of YOU GUYS and your chemistry, your enjoyment of Disney and enjoyment of doing stuff together. So yeah, cooking videos would be fun to watch (great topic on this one- Ronto Wraps are our favorite thing from G.E.!). We are trying to make them tonight. Take care and keep up the great work!!!
This cooking segment is epic. I have a cool apartment filled with cool toys and posters, and I really enjoy seeing yours as well. When I saw the whole peppercorns, I was saying to the computer, "NOT WHOLE PEPPERCORNS!" I am so glad you realized the mistake. What I LOVE about your channel is you take Ordinary things to the next level. You have the perfect name, great chemistry, and are truly wonderful to watch. On a side note, I watch my youTube post when we went to Galaxy's Edge just to play back this wonderful memory. I look forward to getting back to travel and create an epic new normal. Thank you for bringing joy in our lives with your post my fellow "Skywalkers."
Thank you to the both of you for continuing to create content during this scary and bizarre time we're all going through. It sure picks up my spirits. BTW got my "Ordinary Adventures" teal t shirt a couple of weeks ago and I wear it everywhere right now -in my kitchen, in my living room, in my den, yeah, like everywhere. Can't wait to start wearing it outside my house!
Glad you folks are well and keeping us all entertained still! This video was fun; keep them coming! Do a blue milk or a cocktail from Olga's Cantina video next.
Oh yes, yesterday going to the supermarket was fun..... 🤣🤣🤣 Thank you for uploading!!! Makes me happy to watch, and I might try this recipe myself when this is over!
You guys are great! I really love how MUCH Galaxy's Edge content you include. I found your channel after I returned from my FIRST ever visit to Disney World (first Disney park!) back In January and blew through so many of your videos! I missed the park as soon as I got back naturally and this has been great to keep the feeling alive. I LOVE that you guys did this video! I sadly never tried a Ronto Wrap while there! I kinda of want to give this a whirl myself.
Thank you for sharing! As an old lady home cook, that brought out the motherly nature of me wanting to do things for you guys, or share my own wisdoms. But Hey - You got this!
If you don’t have a roasting pan, you can always throw the tenderloin in the crock pot for about six hours. Comes out super tender. I love cole slaw mix. I eat it in wraps, use it to make home made chow mein or throw it in a soup. I loved this video, it gave me an idea to make rondo wraps at home.
Okay, I just discovered you guys as my husband and I are dying from not being able to get our DL/DCA fix (longtime AP's/Disney Bloggers/Former CMs) and also desperately want Blue Milk and Ronto Wraps for Star Wars Day....! Let me just say, you are hysterical and so relatable! I found myself screaming at the tv like you could hear me telling you to crush the peppercorns or when Peter grabbed his Ace Pineapple Cider lol (my hubby's favorite). Thanks for livening up our night and sharing your recipes with us. Wish us luck as we try to recreate everything ourselves for Monday!! Til the spire! 😷😁
This video made my day! Y'all are so great together, and all the labor you did -- all that cooking, the shooting, the editing -- is so special to me as a longtime viewer. Thank you for doing this for us. I've been making cocktails from Epcot. Maybe trying to create the cocktails from Oga's when you are ready to do another video? I hope you and the pups have a restful weekend!
It looks so good! I can’t believe there are only 2 recipes for Ronto wraps. But I can see Disney keeping some of their popular treat recipe hush hush. Like maybe the sauce is made in one place and then the Cole slaw mix is made in a completely different building just to keep it top secret. So tread carefully guys.
This was so well done. I was entertained from minute one! Your editing was perfect! Loved all the snipped in scenes. Also, really interesting to see what LA looks like durning the shelter in place.
What a fun video. Thanks for not only trying to make this but sharing your experience with us. You guys are doing an awesome job with content during all of this craziness!! Maybe try making some green and blue milk next.
I did research,if you happen to like the R2D2 instant pots? Williams-Sonoma has a Star Wars instant pot collection, you can choose from the Dark Side: Darth Vader or a Stormtrooper And from the Good Side: BB8 or Chewbecca or R2D2.
This is a great idea of featuring the yummy dishes at Peter and Kita's cantina! I loved this shopping adventure and may try to find the supplies during my next shopping trip.
Nice job guys! Would love to see more cooking videos of Disney food. You guys are so awesome to share your home and time with us. Btw, we have many cider breweries here in OR and Pineapple cider is by far The Best and I’ve tried them all 🍻
Thank you for a great video. You can always use carrots and potatoes if you don't have a roasting rack and then you get roasted carrots and potatoes. PUPPY! You guys did great - love the cooking video!
LOL I do the same when I follow a recipe. When it says do this for this amount of time, I set the timer on the microwave and follow it exactly. This was fun to watch, glad it came out good!
I’m really enjoying the virtual tours of Galaxy’s Edge, during this Covid-19 plague adventure we’re all on. I’d really like to hear some “blooper stories”, about things you’ve seen at GE, during your visits. Cast members breaking character? Angry parents? Drunk visitors? You know, some funny gossip.
Another amazing adventure! Thank you. By the way, you can crush your peppercorns by covering them w some parchment or waxed paper and using the back of your sauté pan and smashing it right down on them. Until you achieve your desired consistency.
I have not yet been to Batuu, but now I want to go even more. I really want to try a Ronto Wrap. This was a great cooking demonstration. I hope you do more Star Wars cooking videos! I'm going to try making this. Stay safe. Til the Spire!
More cooking videos please. This really helps pass time. I love Peter's face when Kitra gives it a 5 out of 5 Kitras. "Really?" Our vacation is booked for June 3rd. Still praying we get to go.
Bright Suns - what a brilliant idea you guys, bringing us a little bit of Disney Galaxy's Edge whilst at home and all done in your own unique Ordinary Adventures style. You have to do more of these. Perhaps the Chewie dessert as per Disney Food Blog could be next.
HAHA thank you so much for putting the recipe in the description, my parents always use these ingredients but with different stuff and it does not taste good to me but hopefully I can convince them into making this, thans!
Well done! Thanks for the intergalactic in-service. I'm guessing this batch of "man snacks" were made right before Peter sits down with Kitra to watch, "90 Day Fiance (after the 90 days)." The Ronto Wraps look really good and probably more cost effective than buying one at Galaxy's Edge. That said, this just made me miss Disneyland even more. The longer this COVID-19 quarantine lasts, the more I truly miss/take for granted Disneyland (among so many other things). When it re-opens you can bet I'll be there among millions eager to soak in every moment with a huge smile. :)
its amazing seeing the guy with no protection manning the check out. iam in quarantine in italy and the check outs in italy are behind perspex and wearing a mask and gloves as the customers need to also as well as getting your temperature checked on entry to the store. and controlled numbers allowed in any store at once.
I work for Walmart and management honestly doesn’t care. We get masks and gloves but it’s very limited. We’re suppose to be getting sneeze guards for the registers but they haven’t come in yet. They don’t care about their associates they only care about profit.
I LOVE the Ace ciders! They are made about a half mile from my house. Every year they do a limited edition one in a screw top bottle called Blackjack with the local Gravenstein Apples, its so good!
Love the cooking video Peter and Kitra. How are you guys holding up in the quarantine? Honestly can you make more Star Wars galaxy edge foods please? Makes me hungry 😂😋
So, we did a May the 4th Be With You celebration. We made a bunch of Star Wars food. And, we used the same recipe for the Ronto Wrap. It was amazing! I want to suggest maybe using a kielbasa if you make it next time. I only had turkey kielbasa in the house so I used that. OMG! Incredible. That all being said we have not ventured to Galaxy’s Edge yet. So, I can’t compare. Our next trip to DW is in Nov 2020. Fingers crossed that we will be able to make it. My kids and I definitely want to make it again. My husband missed out on our MT4BWY celebration. He decided to have a heart attack during a pandemic. Long story short, he is ok. He is back with us and happy and healthy. We have to recreate the day for him soon! Can’t wait to see you guys back in the parks!
I pretty much did the exact same thing as you guys, except I just mixed the cole slaw in a bag with dressing in a jar. I'm not a fan of it at all either. Though, it is good on the wrap. But, I'm use to it being from Pittsburgh. We put slaw and fries on our sandwiches made famous by Primani Bros. A local restaurant. I also made some blue milk to go with the wraps.
More cooking videos! For another Ronto wrap you can try polish sausage. Also for those Johsonville sausages, I often cook them in sake for extra flavor.
so little tip for you when cooking at home and trying to cut up onion or shallot. onions have an enzime that they give off when sliced. It is attracted to water which is why your eyes water. to avoid the crying when cutting onion cut near your kitchen sink and run the water while cooking it really helps.
Cooking IS an ordinary adventure! Well done, guys! (Also - crushing the peppercorns would be something intuitive with experience. And in a way... learning these things is part of the adventure.)
Peter and Kitra, thanks for doing this video! You must have read my mind as I was going to comment on your last video, suggesting that you make the Ronto Wrap from the Galaxy's Edge cookbook! I've made the recipe from the book and it's CONSIDERABLY different than the recipe you made. My comparison is it's like a spicy sloppy joe! I wonder why they changed the recipe in the book so greatly! Anyway, Sheila and I appreciate the videos, keep up the great work!
Looks good! My husband and I have been watching your channel for months now getting excited for our Summer Disney trip (now up in the air). Love your videos! You could try making okonomiyaki with the leftover Coleslaw mix.
Hey there, thanks so much for doing this and sharing it. I made it last night and it came out great. The only difference I did was smoked the pork loin and sausage ( which I usually make on my own, sausage that is) but if you two ever make it again, hit the hot dog isle up and not the cold meat section. There are a lot of sausage variants that fit close to Ronto's roasters (non-Italian) Again, great job!
