😂 rice rice baby. Excellent instructions - thks Sahil. Going to try this method. Never cooked using ghee and spices before adding rice. I hv bad relationship with rice cooking....either cooks perfectly or is cr*p 😅 Looking forward to trying this.
I love jeera rice! I usually throw in a few black peppercorns as well, but I don't know that they do much. Quick question, though, do you have any tips on ways to remove the larger whole spices after cooking? For a small batch, its easy enough to simply pick out the cloves and cardamom pods, but in larger batches I inevitably miss some. Those little buggers always end up hiding in the gravy and one bite ends up very cardamom-y. Thanks in advance!
hahaha that's actually part of the Indian food experience. You have to bite into one of those at some point doing the meal or else it's not an Indian meal. But I guess you can always tie them in a cheesecloth and then they stay in that. We do that for some curries and stews but mostly Indians pick those things out while they are eating.
