This is a good recipe you are young and still learning I'm 61 have been cooking for years so here's I cook my smoke neck bones I wash my meat first then I boil them for 25-30 minutes then I pour that water off wash my meat off put in fresh water after rinsing my pot out put my meat in bring to a boil season with garlic powder abode season slice a half onion drop all that in let boil for 2 hrs then I put in my potatoes or greens or lima beans, rice what ever you desire to eat with your meat, according to what vegetables or starch you put in with the meat if it's rice or potatoes cook for 25 minutes remove pot from that eye on cool eye on stove let sit for 30 minutes the steam will finish the cooking you don't want musey rice or potatoes. Now if you cooking like lima Beans, greens blk eyes peas Cook those in the meat for 1 1/2 hrs I like my meat to fall apart and my greens tender. Keep doing what you do sweetheart and as you practice the better you will be. Blessing.
I'm making smoked neck bones today for Sunday dinner right now.U cook yours just like mine, but I add onion and some garlic powder and crushed red pepper. My mother is from South Carolina and we use some of the broth to cook our rice. The best rice ever!
I've cooked neck bones for years, one of my favorite meals. Today i am fixing smoked neck bones, a first for me. Ive always used the unsmoked ones so i am really excited to try this!
This was my first time cooking these and I followed your instructions. They turn out great! Thank you! 😃 I used creole seasoning instead of accent because that’s what I had. 👍🏾
Watched the video while already boiling my neck bones (this my first time making them), just to make sure I was finessing them right lol. Video was SUPER helpful & the meat falling off your neck bones look so 😍😍 can't wait to try mine ! Lol
I appreciated it a lot my grandma didn’t answer FaceTime and she’s busy so I came here. I needed a video that got straight to the point and I appreciate you a lot 💗 definitely subscribing. You’ve got a sweet energy too and I love your voice
You’ll notice with a first boil it does not smell good. Boil ( with some seasoning if you like). Drain to get rid of the impurities and filth (in my mind.)
That's interesting. I've noticed a lot of people doing recipes nowadays talking about after rinsing boil the meat to boil off the impurities. You rinse again after all of that. Then you add all your other ingredients. Something to think about.
@@cookied5806 Hi cookie, I do. The smoked are greasy and you will notice impurities with the first boil. Doesn’t seem to affect the flavor after a first, short boil.
I seen someone say if you use just water you have to season the heck out of it is that true ? And if u add a broth what typa broth you use ? This my first time making it and i dont wanna mess up lol
I had never even seen smoked pork neckbones before a couple weeks ago, bought them to put in a skillet with diced sweet potato and squash I'm gonna have to get them again and try this, they were delicious
A first boil. I toss out the junk with be first boil. Put in fresh water and chicken stock. I never use just water. Season as you like. Garlic and onion powder, crushed reds, I use dried minced onions, black pepper. Also, I don’t always spend money on stock that I’m not going to get a full container use of. I keep on hand Maggi Pollo (chicken) flavor bouillon. I add that to the water to flavor it. I found if I use just water, I have to season the heck out of it. No matter, the bones themselves have great flavor. All seasonings are meant to enhance. Stop asking if it’s ok to add this or that. If you like pebbles from the driveway boiled in brake fluid with a little vinegar, Reese’s pieces and mouthwash...use it!
Miss Dee, please do not let people give you attitude about Accent/MSG. It got a terrible and undeserved reputation. You make smoked neck bones the way I learned, and I could just about die for some right now.
