I completely agree with the opening comments, Professor Sam Vaknin is the absolute oracle of NPD and other cluster B personality disorders. I’ve learnt so much about NPD and this has gone a long way to helping my recovery from the abuse I received from being married to someone who presents many of the traits associated with NPD. I’ve found his material to be unmatched by any other online so called experts. I also appreciate the fact that he often quotes the work/material from the founding minds of psychology.

So basically narcism is created by an unsecure Environment and not to get crazy - the narc is stabilaze him | herself with the imaged (introjects) he should have received in his childhood (security, bonding, safty) but he | she never received it and the nervesystem is still hanging in there hoping to get what h/s should had to get (Fantasy, Snapshot). Somehow I feel sad, knowing the narc never was able to arrive here on earth…

Believe me . I know BPD and NPD like the back of my hand. I lived with my brother who is BPD and witnessed it from birth to 30. He was also diagnosed when he was involuntary committed to the mental hospital years ago. For 20 years. Never would have thought. Im not a doctor but from dealing with it for 35 years . I literally can see inner hollow empty shell they have. They even mimic you.

@@LuvvvSucks I'm still in the process of creating a new, better fitting life for myself. But i now understand the inner workings of my ex and the reason, which was the shared fantasy, why i couldn't go no contact. Now i'm able to not depend my happiness on how other people treat me and take steps to take responsibility for my own peace. It takes work, but i'm on my way. There is a video from Sam on how to love yourself without becoming a narcissist. I can pretty surely say, that if i met my narcissist today, i wouldn't fall for him again. I'm more aware. It's an inside job.

All I can say is this, in “my opinion” your original comment comes off as NPD. You’re grateful to have gone through the pain, abuse and being mindfucked, because without all that you wouldn’t have found Sam and become an expert on narcissism

@@VeronikaEff1982 start by asking yourself “why did I stay? What was my emotional payout?” Then download an emotional chart. Get in touch with your own emotional triggers. If you work through those then it’s hard to be manipulated by them. Journaling is also a great way to process what you’re going through. When you journal, you can write down any and all thoughts. They don’t have to be pretty. Putting thoughts onto paper helps to banish them and prove any fears untrue

I understand this is a very important & painful issue, I’ve been subjected to it for 20+ years and learned that sometimes we have to laugh at our mistakes and situation to keep our sanity. So saying that: My survival strategy has developed to know that my Narcissistic grown husband will become a dead baby if he doesn’t stop throwing his toys out of the pram in his rages. He better learn to wipe his own bum, I’m done being his abused surrogate mother. No more tears, I now have my own regulated fantasies so I can cope with a smile and a degree of sanity. 😂😂🧡 My affection for him is now no longer unconditional. This mummy will abandon him in my own house with my own silent treatment, dismissal and, individuality. Remember: What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. ☺️

This gives me so many questions. My ex acts like a lying narcissist with no care to the pain she causes (will say she cares but does the exact thing to hurt me), but is emotional to others’ struggles like an empath or BPD (also very sexual and can’t get enough of it), and will constantly express she can’t live without me while still willing to lie and cross boundaries against her word. She has sworn on the lives of her own children to never cross a certain boundary, but then cross it multiple times, and self-sabotage her life’s progress when I leave (job and schooling and probation), and stalks me and says she can’t live without me. What is she? Mind you. She is a drug addict that has colored hair, spent time in jail and prison, tattoos all over including her ex’s and 6 of my name on her, family is Hell’s Angels, loves her father but hates her drug addict mother, and has been molested as a child by her mother’s boyfriend. She love bombs and worships me. But over time, the things she admires, become what she complains about. Again, what is she? She has all the signs of a covert narcissist except she is emotional and will cry when seeing acts of kindness, and can’t live without my “touchy feely” love language.
