This describes my best friend who has kind of a narcissistic style, but an incredibly deep and kind person otherwise. He had some abnormal sexual attractions to things normally you wouldn’t even expect like yoshi and stuff and now that watched this video it makes a lot more sense that these were self directed because they definitely were in hindsight and the final straw for him was becoming a furry. Last year he burned all the furry stuff and is looking for a girlfriend now and I’m so happy for him
Prof Vaknin is it possible tha self states function in a continuum not rigid separated and unike as you described? The best way I can think of is of an music equalizer based in the environment you up a certain frequency and lower others etc...

I wish they were readily available in my place. Microdosing was my next plan of care for my husband. He is 59 & has so many mental health issues plus probable CTE & a TBI that left him in a coma 8 days. It's too late now I had to get a TPO as he's 6'6 300+ pound homicidal maniac. He's constantly talking about killing someone. He's violent. Anyone reading this Familiar w/ BPD know if it is common for an obsession with violence.
Wow, there's actually a name for my condition! After I retired in 2017 I started noticing how much I prefer my own company. I have a multitude of hobbies, and never experience loneliness. I also continue to develop and grow via various social groups I am active with, and my life feels quite fulfilled.Thank you for sharing this.

I went for a walk in the forest with a friend and I had to ask her to to stop talking as it was spoiling the experience of the walk, I often have nothing to say and I like to have my head empty I like my own space internally and externally, I dont go to parties I like quiet times with another not rowdy gatherings, some people label me aloof but really I am just not interested in shallow conversation I have no need to exert my ego I feel solid within myself, I find that needy insecure people are attracted to me and I discourage their advances
I would like to open an interesting interplay between the internal interjects and external person than don't get interjected, most probably the Narcissist has a maximum number of people he needs to interject "probably intimate partner, close friends, family etc" but probably other more superficial relationships "Narcissistic supplies" can't and aren't interjected by the Narcissist as probably he or she already exploited their cognitive space available for a efficient and operative interjections. The question is what happens then in the real live scenario? Probably hyper focus and anxiety by the Narcissist not to loose their ground. Please be so kind and elaborate more detailed on this problematic.
I would wake up in the middle of the night from notifications on my phone from him..the text would always say, "now remember, what we have cannot be replicated" ...at the time I thought it was endearing, now I realize it was down right creepy.
When I mad and upset I give silent treatment because I feel like I’m not included to he’s decision bringing people in our house and staying for a long period of time without my permission is crazy he should ask me everything he’s so selfish
I think we can agree to disagree on the fact that its men or women that are going to rule, its the narcissistic inhumans that will rule the future world, and all good women and men will suffer...
Thank you for your time and effort. You share without asking anything in return. You deserve recognition for being the leading and first worldwide expert on the topic. Narcs may lack emotions but they are still flesh and blood, born like everyone. Abuse and Trauma has made them dysfunctional and dysregulated. Life is a simulation that we are all plugged into playing our roles/parts. You say you were diagnosed with NPD yet you seem 'human' to me. Is there no hope for narcs? The pain they cause to others and themselves. Are narcs a mutation, a new species?
Experienced this at work. Took me a long time to figure her out - even with my really good radar. It was her trying to use my talent for her purposes, making projects "palatable" to me that would only have helped her and also the malicious way she talked about her daughter ("she's just causing problems with her ADHD") that opened my eyes. She displayed empathy in the right moment, worked for social projects and presented herself as caring and good natured. It’s hard to see through this mask if you are not highly educated on the topic. I love my own company I speak to people in passing or with a neighbour and occasionally out with a friend but then I come back to me to being on my own and I just live it
Thank you very much, I finely understand why the narcist does what he does. That helps me too except and move on with my life without the narcistic partner.

Which stay with you until you seek help / therapy” Question: In CBT one for instance learn to ask oneself if certain ways of behaving still are useful / functional. Are some simple reality checks not enough to get the narcissist and his introjects out of your mind / silence them?

Narcissists have no comprehesion of how their bad behaviors affect others. They truly are robotic and exist in a poorly programmed existence. No matter how you try to explain yourself they always look at you with that blank expression that doesn't compute with reality. Ugh.
I'm reminded of Don Quixote and Sancho Panza. Don Quixote is clearly a narcissistic man who cannot see outside his delusions, and Sancho Panza is in comparison quite reasonable and the one who smooths things over and saves Don Quixote's ass more than once. One of the big questions has always been why does Sancho put up with this. The answer, or a possible answer, is because he's a man with hopes and dreams. He too wants to make it big. Don Quixote promises to make him big, so he follows him. Despite the stupidity...
Do borderline has attention deffict like ADHD? Forget things, lose things, has problem with attention during listening boring things like instruction, job interview, reading long text or pay attention to boring conversation or problem with organisation and operative menory?
Ask myself after all this information that come to us, not only from you buth manny others....How manny are there. Looking at my past I can say I had some treatments of a Narc to. The only thing I know out my urly childhouth was as soon as I get older had to get rid of my Mothers programming. Knowing she raised me wrong. That took years. Meanwhile married a Narc without seeing the red flags. With 63 finnaly free I could start my recoverery. Buth now I started see them everywhere and ask myself how manny are human? Are we living in a madhouse?

Professor so Narcs being afraid of their own emotions as you said, have different reasons to abuse substances than the psychopaths have? Aka psychopaths dont abuse substances to numb out their feelings cause they dont have any? But for the sheer joy and pleasure of it? So if you find out why someone is abusing substances (fun or supressing) you can tell if theyre a narcissist or a psychopath? Or it this too simply thought. Was just wondering. Thank you
I was raised by two covert narcissist. The interojects they have installed in me prevented me to have proper relationships with females. It's all narcissistic-like perception in this area of m life. How can I reinstall these interojects?
On first meeting, he told me he was autistic. I filtered his behavior through that lens, but it felt more like this. I'm sure you've done videos comparing autism to narcissism?
Omgosh, here it is!! Thank you Mr. Sam. My soul has been craving this lifestyle as long as I've been alive! You have no idea the relief this gives me. I'm not crazy, I'm in fact very normal to be having these desires that would never leave me. You are talking about me and Im so very happy! At 63 yrs old I'm just now hearing about this lifestyle. If I had known earlier, my life would have been so very happy. I would have been in my element alone in the woods by my beautiful trees keeping me company. My heart aches for this kind of life. I love solitude and my own company! I always thought I must have been very introverted, but that didn't really fit me. I knew I was not depressed either. I just want my own space, and to be left alone by myself. That's all I crave.
