You could cut along the tape, then use a notching tool to give a lower lip. Trim the roof part and drop into the notched recess with some bonding chemical. This will give the panel beater a level joint to fill and sand smooth. See you at Noosa 2024. RCIS
Nice one Bill. You must have itched for days while you were making that. We did Hobart Hill Climb with our new aero kit on Sunday, it rained heavy from 4am to 10 am, then we had a storm. them it rained again until well past home time.
The fill in compound I use is "Fairing Compound" used in the boat industry for repairs to hulls banged against piers,etc. It is a polyester resin based, light aerated filler that is cheaper than car body filler, lighter, and much easier to sand. Google "fiberglass boat repair supplies" in your area to find it. If you just cannot find it, then car body filler will do.
