Hey guys, I'm letting you in on a little secret today... I'm showing you how I add cork backings to my coasters. This is my tried and true way, I've been using this way for almost 2 years and it works fabulously! I show you my FAVORITE glue- it's an amazing alternative to the E6000 adhesive.
You can use this process on any shape or size of coaster, just as long as you find larger enough cork and throughly apply the glue!

Nice video. I have 2 suggestions. One, you should get silicone molds for coasters and either go pure resin or go concrete to save money instead of buying coasters. With cement, they cost about $0.10 each to make. My second suggestion is to get paint brushes and brush on your glue to cover 100% of the surface instead of using the glue bottle to spread it.

Thanks for the suggestions. I personally like the effect I can achieve on glazed ceramic coasters. And I haven’t tried cement but that might be something to look at. I use a thick layer of glue when working and it spreads to cover the underside when I’m adding the cork, brushing gives thinner layers in my experience. I use my finger otherwise to spread the thick glue.

Or instead of using a brush, she could use latex gloves to really get a complete overall spread. That's what I normally do.

how do you seal the edges of the cork?

Have you had any problem with the ink pen smudging? My stamp got wet from condensation and it smudged.

I use an archival and waterproof pen so there isn’t any smudging or bleeding

OMG That's too much work. Why not just buy die-cut cork backing? Any of the die-cut companies like Frank Lowe will cut your backing and kiss cut it with adhesive then you just peel and stick. Sooo much faster and cleaner and you'll end up saving money in the long run
