Great use of the piriformis muscle to further bring the posterior sacrum further anterior. Had to watch this a few times to better understand but very glad I did, Excellent job you taught me plenty.

Thank you. I couldn't understand the procedures based on pictures and definitions. The video you made really helped out. I may purchase some books as well. You're a blessing to the PT community. Thanks again!

Can you, please help me. I have sacrum displacement and impaired posture, but doctors don't really care. It causes pain and obstructs my work. I'm sure that some therapy like this on the video will help me, but I have no idea how do people come to your hands, the masters like you all, guys. I'm in Dresden.

Hi, my right hip flexor are tight and left hamstring also left side of low back is more flat, this occurs after lift/twist move. Can sacrum reset by doing this twice a day. Thanks for great content.

Me, in the decades of chiropractic work, would just adjust both si joints with the hope of loosing them up so that the joints would fall back unto their normal anatomical positions. It worked more often than not.

Thats normal for most therapists to adjust both sides, regards JG

Dr John do you have tests and treatment for unilateral flexed sacral torsions too? Haven't seen a video on your channel regarding that. Thank you very much for considering

hi, John! thanks tons for your amazing videos! Curious about the reason for extending the right leg on this one - does that not make the sacrum rotate left (as in a normal gait pattern) thus inducing not eliminating the left torsion?
@JohnGibbons
@JohnGibbons 6 лет назад
Thanks for the message and extending the leg induces lumbar extension and subsequent this induces sacral nutation as the dysfunction of the sacrum is fixed in counter-nutation. Hope that helps, Regards JG

@@JohnGibbons extending the right leg induces nutation on the right sacral side which is already in nutation compared to the counter nutated left side and flexing the left leg induces more counter nutation on the left sacral side...what am I missing? thanks!

Im sorry what does nutation mean? If my left sacrum area hurts and my left muscle under the scapular hurts but i can lift and bend my left knee without pain what should i do? I cant sit for long otherwise i feel my left groin bit tight. Just tryingbto understand how the sacrum gets out of order and i want to help myself a little not too harsh. Thank you John.

I've struggled with si joint dysfunction for 7 years, I've had pao surgery on both hips to correct hip dysplasia and still have si joint issues. Do you know anyone in the USA that can perform these mets? I have seen over a dozen PTs who all want to do the same core exercises which never help. Appreciate your time.

Look up manual physical therapist in your area. Not many are trained in it. Ask the office if the PT is trained and uses muscle energy techniques

If someone is hyper mobile and keeps slipping out after met the same day, are there strengthening exercises you recommend? Which ones should one focus on. Right leg is shorter with the left on right.
@JohnGibbons
@JohnGibbons 5 лет назад
hi, thanks for the message and to be honest it is tricky to recommend strengthening exercises for hyper mobility, especially if the joint keeps sub-luxating, taping and a brace can help initially to try and help maintain the position. Regards JG

Thanks. Focused on a serola belt which seems to maintain its integrity. You have a couple of taping vids. Are these too general?

Does this technique fix the pain on my left sacrum? Last week my chiro unlocked my left but the pain came back slowly. This won't cause leg numbing and will i not feel anymore pain when i bend over? Thank you.

I don't understand the role of piriformis in this technique
@JohnGibbons
@JohnGibbons 4 года назад
Thanks for the comments and it is more about the position of the lower leg to extension and spinal rotation that encourages the sacrum to nutate from a counter-nuated position and the piriformis assists as it attaches to S2-S4 of the sacrum regards JG
