I actually ended up with two new 1200 Atomas! My wedge tapers also. I imagine when pulling numbers to use the middle most when figuring the geometry? I should have another go at it. I'm glad you didn't edit out your one small mishap. Make me feel better about my 12K glue up, haha! Great gift, Joseph, you're a master. I'm still foggy about why the edge correction beside the slight twist...I'll go back and review the beginning again, cheers and thanks for the instructional!
One of these days you're gonna get one of your demon razors so sharp it will flay the skin right off your face when you shave with it! Then you won't be bothered with shaving any more!
Thanks for the awesome video. I am just getting back into using straight razors, and figured this time around that I would try my hand had learning just enough of honing to keep my razors refreshed. Are there certain stones, grains and such that you would recommend for just keeping them in tip top shape for clean/smooth shaves? Ive only just recently found your videos, so working my way through them. Thanks Sir
Hi Donald, Not sure why i did not reply to this before. I never refresh razors myself, only hone from scratch for each shave. However I can give you my opinion. Firstly the razor needs to be honed adequately and then with a decent strop and stropping technique you should be able to keep it going for an age. After that there are many stones that would refresh nicely. Naniwa 12k is the most well known in the synthetic category. I personally would go for a jnat (Koppa) Nakayama or Ozuku. Let me know if you need any advice.. Many thanks
