If you stuff some sponge in the first eye of the rod to put tension on the line, it saves having to hold it and the tension is more consistent.

When you transfer from spool to spool do you worry about line twist?

Comfortable and fun to fish with. Super fast retrieve. Haven't had any serious backlashes, and the small ones I have had were my fault.

What can you do if you don't have a spare spool?

I use a wet rag when I spool my reels, but I never considered a sock. That should work to. 😉

I did this but it still under filled when the braid came back to the top? Is it because i have wet the braid in the process of transferring from spool to spool, should I have kept it dry as shown in video? Please help

Take away a washer or 2 depending on how steep it is. And putting braid on wet is better than dry because it allows you to pack it on there tight and hard which is what you want

Little bit confused wonder if anyone could help me out. Im wondering if the shockleader is also braid, if so wouldn't there be no stretch causing more tension/possibly a break off?
@Team_cat6.

With shock leader if using a small spod not so bad to run straight though … but I use shockleader Andy way my spod brade is 60lb and then use Korda or some thing like that for the shockleader Nash etc , what Eve I have in table box ,, I would then have around 3-4 turns on the reel of shockleader that’s is just to take in pack of cast you tube etc loads out there #team-cat

@@Team_cat6. thanks I've ended up sorting it out. i used 50lb Spomb shockleader attached to 30lb reel braid via a back to back grinner knot, everything seems to be ok 👍

Surely everyone does a spool fill this way, whatever fishing you are doing, at least this video will make sure people do.
