I’d love to see a video of how you meal prep for a whole week rather than just making one meal. Or how you count macros batch cooking. Thanks Kristi, love your videos,
Hitting the "Tare" button after putting a jar on the scale and working with the negative weights instead is a true game changer. And so simple - didn't think of that 😂
You just made my life easier! I have only been counting macros for 3 weeks and it's driving me nuts how many times I'm washing dishes used on the scale. Your method makes sooooo much more sense! Thank you!
I watched this 5 mos ago and randomly popped up on my yt feed again. And this time I listened harder even though I get info overload from kristi sometimes and boom it totally made sense that just weighing the jar or whatever container you have totally made sense as to getting a bowl for every ingredient or food you’ll be having. Thanks kristi hope to be part of your team one day!
OMG! I finally get what you were trying to tell us in the video that I watched last night! I couldn't understand when you were removing something from a jar and saying that that was the measurement that you wanted. Now, once you said "NEGATIVE" so many grams today I finally understood how that works! Thank you so much!
Yeah, the nut butter mindless scooping comment is a huge deal. Never has a jar of nut butter lasted me SO long since I re-entered the world of macro-counting. One positive aspect is that I now buy the finest almond butter I can find (pricey!) because it does last so long as opposed to skimping on cheaper alternatives in the peanut butter family. Great stuff Kristi, keep the train rolling!
Is there another app similar to my fitness pal? I used to use it before and I haven’t for awhile but when I went to use it today I found that you have to pay to scan the food.. no way I’m doing that. Thank you. I’m a new subscriber.
I'm a Cronometer fan. Not sure if you need to pay the yearly fee to scan, but I do because I also utilize the custom recipes feature for meals I eat on a regular basis.
Thanks your so sweet this is going to help me so much i have a handicap son he's 80pounds I'm the one lifting him from bed to chair .and need this so much to loose weight and later gain muscle ❤
Please give us more of these videos. It was great and I’m definitely going to try a variation of your breakfast because it looks tasty, easy, quick and healthy. Thank you so much! The tip about the scales is also brilliant, I never thought to do that and I too feel like I’m going through a tun of dishes, which is definitely not good given that I am living in a shoebox.
Thank you for sharing, I have been enjoying the reformulated Kirkland Signature Strawberry jelly. It, like the thick & thin bacon change are fascinating adjustments Costco & Sam’s Club are making with their vendors. I use my scale for everything you outlined, my coffee beans before they head to the grinder & when I make wheat things (bread, pizza, pasta, (3:2:1 pie crust))
Thank you Thank you so much for this. Breaking it down is so much helpful. I don't know if this is possible, but can you a video focused on an morbid obese individual who needs to lose weight long term as opposed to gaining muscles for a weight competition?
This is a great video. I appreciate it! I like how you brike down carb, protein, and fat gram per cal and OMG, YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW MUCH TIME YOU HAVE SAVED ME with the scale and backing my way into counticng with the taring. OMG, I did the same as you with mutiple spoons and dishis trying to get it on the money and it was so time consuming and fpainful lol. One quick question, how are you coutning your vegies to get the correct amount per cerving?
2 Questions @kristi How do you enter this meal into the app? Whats the simplest way to meal plan ahead of time so im not trying to count micros at each meal time
Thank you so so much for this video! So helpful! I’m new to your channel and love everything what I am seeing ❤ also wanted to ask about water intake? I’m trying to do better with that. How much should I be drinking?
What resources would you recommend if someone wanted to go deeper into having a balanced diet and also how to meal prep? I'm assuming you are taught by a professional when you went into CrossFit. Did they show you any websites, books, apps, etc? Thank you.
kristi, I am a little confused. I’ve been doing CrossFit for a few years now, I’ve done a few eating programs but I think I need to do better. The other plans I’ve done are ok but this is a little more strict which is what I think I need to cut some body fat and gain more muscle. How to I determine what foods are the correct to eat? ie:protein, carb, fat Also you mentioned in one of your videos that you measure fats in oz? Not sure all on grams or not. Been watching you off sense Covid with you garage box you built with you husband. I would like to find a way to strict my diet up more. Any way you can help? If so it would be great to write you somehow to figure something out for my body type. I don’t mind if there is a fee, I understand. Thank you Mark
Great video, thanks. I'd love to see a video on how to get lean without losing muscle mass for women. Like when people do a cut/shred for shows, do they cut out all the carbs or carbs and fats? I'd love to know how that works. Thanks.
Hey Kristi! Which nutrition certs have you done and which ones have you found to be the most valuable so far? There are so many options it’s hard to know where to start. Thanks!
Need help with this: my husband just started counting macros. Well, I do the counting he just does the eating. The problem is that I'm cooking for him, myself and our 3 kids. If I was just cooking and he was eating the entire thing it would be easy to count. But I'm cooking a large amount and then taking his portion out. When is multiple things mixed together, I'm unsure of how much of each thing he's actually consuming. If that makes sense. I feel like the only way to be accurate is to cook the entire meal separately separately for him and everyone else. But then that's twice the work, twice the dishes. You have a lot of great tricks up your sleeve from what I've seen. Maybe you have a solution.
Thank you for this video! I just discovered your page yesterday and I find joy in watching your videos because you break things down to a level that I can easily digest the information. I have started counted calories/macros just a week ago and wanted to find information to help me do better along my journey. My favorite tip here was setting the whole jar on the scale and scooping out the portion I want. I was making a mess with how I was trying to weight out my sour cream portion lol! Thank you for these videos! Happy New Year Kristi!
I am a bariatric sleeve person. Do we count our macros differently because of the surgery?? I’m 67 yrs old and want to reach 135 pounds. Any help or light you can shed for me would be greatly appreciate.
I am trying to figure out what I need to do to lose weight. I tried keto Mack counting and I gained.. I am 54 yrs old and kept this on maybe I did it wrong. I had my joints was even hurting ! I was so frustrated because this is what I was trying to stop! So when I was younger I lost 75 pounds on low fats. So should I do a lower fat for my macro even though I am loader since Keto didn’t work? I need advice.. anyone? I exercise all the time.. and I am tired.. tired of trying and getting no where
I have a question if someone could answer this it would be amazing pls. If I eat an Apple and Carrots say those carbs are super high on my daily count. Are these carbs calculated the same as starchy carbs? I mean how can vegetables be unhealthy in the fact that it takes me over my carbs %?
It's not the scale that does it, it's how I do it! Here is a video where I show you exactly how to do it... You can do it with any scale! .... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-dPZpy49muEU.htmlsi=WLpxhCPAR6rv86Qx
When submitting your foods you eat in a day into My FitnessPal, do you have to write out the brand of the food to make the outcome accurate? For example, I couldn’t find Greenwise Ground chicken “cooked”. I just found cook ground chicken. Is that going to make a difference?
How do you do this when you make a homemade soup? Which has many things in it. Such as bone broth, chicken, vegetables. But you can't count these individually as your eating it maybe as leftover the next day.
Hi, there is a way to do it but you do have to plan ahead/ It is slightly complicated. You would have to add up everything you put into your soup, then determine what you want a serving to be. For example say 1 cup is a serving. You would then figure out how many total cups are in that entire soup and divide the number of cups by all the total carbs, proteins and fats you added into the soup when you added up everything you put into it... I know it sounds confusing. We can maybe make a video on it soon!
I know I’m late to the game, but can someone clarify one thing please. Once we know the break down of carbs fat and protein we are using, are we still concentrating on the calorie number as well at the end of the day? What if we’ve gone higher on our daily requirements of calories but everything else is good. Is a no-no or still aiming for that daily calorie number as well?
It's only been only a week that I've started macros and I still can't get the exact amount especially in calories, any suggestion of food that has ONLY high calories.
My biggest problem with macros is not weighing the food, it’s combining foods to find the macrobalance I need. I feel when there’s too many carbs and I take food out of the recipe then I also take protein out of it again… food is not just carbs or just protein or fat. And then the calories don’t add up anymore #ughhhh
