Same here. He's a lot more noob friendly than Duke imo. No offense to Duke because he provides great info, but you have to have some core Smite knowledge to understand the majority of the things he talks about vs Intersect who explains every bit of terminology in these informational guides.
Small correction when it comes to banishing that u can't cleanse. When hit by janus's first ability portal the banish can be cleansed at anytime to avoid the damage and get out of the Cc. Also i would like to note So Ccs can be stopped or hindered by walls like the knockup pull by hercules can be blocked by a ymir wall placed between the player hercules is knocking up and hercules but this doesnt stop a sylvanus pull that pulls you through walls.
I'm a OG wow player so I'm Very familiar with DR but I love that you did this video. There's a whole new base of players "youngins" that will really benefit from this video. Yes I am a subscriber;)
Love to see Guides on every stat, and how to counter them as well. Maybe pen and power one episode, crit another, protections another. Plus I've never understood power spikes/curves if there is time to make a guide for all that. even a guide on how to make a team comp on conquest would be killer! Love learning more about smite and you're the only smite guide content creator it seems!
I thought so too. But I did learn about Dr that I didn't know. This game is just a cc nightmare. I feel like we need a good that can provide cc immunity/resistance to all allies
@@Scyclo I agree cc is crazy and everywhere but I think that A) if people would take support as a serious role with valid and necessary applications such as baiting out CC as well as learning how to counter build against it, and how a support can impact a team by separating them with their own cc rather than these trolls that believe support is just second solo, or a place to outshine whomevers carrying. And B) if people would understand just general building correctly in the way of for instance someone taking an ability based God and building them AA, prime example Amaterasu, who with spirit robe, oni hunters (full cc reduction build) and a fully lvled 2, is capable of mitigating 39% (unless theres DR on mitigations but dont think so) of all damage for the duration of the 2 (8 seconds, but spirit robe mitigations only lasts 3 seconds) when hard CCed during a teamfight, as well as having one of the longest CC immunities from her ultimate compared to every other god in the game. But when built with beserkers and not prioritizing CD she dosent have this capability near as often if at all. These kind of things open the door to high CC comps being SUPER effective. True you cant only play with good team mates, but if people would stop trolling support, it wouldnt be near an issue as it is.
it's not the players it's the game. No Rez needs to have something in the game to counter hard CC teams. Beyond beads. If the won't, at least have beads CD reduce by a certain amount everytime you are hit with a hard CC.
My first video of yours. Just coming back into smite from ps4->Switch. Its been about 2 years since I've played so I've been relearning everything. I appreciate your straightforward approach. Other content creators seem to beat around the bush to the point i lose interest. Keep it up ^.^
If you start an ability will silence cancel it? Example: Thor's 3, he starts spinning and he gets hit by Ganesha or someone's silence. It cancels it? Or just prevents any further casts?
In fact any hard cc cancel skills being cast, however I don't know why but some skills after being cancel, don't go in cool down, they are still up and can be used again
Eduardo Mundim Braga If you gain any benefit from an ability like the potential to do damage or gain vision it will be canceled. So that’s why Thor’s ability goes on cool down if you are silenced. But an ability like Oloruns focused light he gains no benefit while he is charging that ability. So when he is silenced it doesn’t go on cool down. Because he has zero potential to do damage until he casts it. Now if he were to gain let’s say movement speed or some sort of buff while charging it. It would go on cool down. I hope this helps 🤞
It's important to realise that knock-ups are not affected by DR, but do apply it. That's why it's almost always better to use a stun before a knock-up and not the other way around. If you play Geb or Horus, use your stun, wait until it's about to wear off, and then use your knock-up. The CC chain will last way longer. And then if your knock-up happens to interrupt their escape ability, which they probably want to use after getting stunned for a long time and eating lots of damage, they're really, really screwed.
@@NightDweller why ty, I actually would love some advice..I'm a bit of an odd ball on builds..for each role I have a couple gods I like Supports: ares, Fafnir, Cerberus i like my supports and solos as hybrid builds as i find them more fun and impactful Solos: jormengundr, Achilles, king Arthur, possibly odin as I like his new kit Mid: Ra, kulkulkahn, Merlin Jungles: thor, thanatos , considering fenrir or maybe set? Carry: only olorun as I'm so far not too impressed with hunters
immortalls96 do you want a build for each role? There's a website called smite source by weak3n. You should check it out. I will give you some brief info. It might be all over the place. These are general builds and some items could be better on some specific characters. Also always try to finish boots as soon as possible and always ward as much as possible Guardian: start with guardian blessing tier 1 boots 4 health pots and 2 combined pots. This is my favourite start in support. Regular items in support would be gauntlet of Thebes boots of your choice sovereignty heartwald amulet. Relic dagger if your character utilise blink well. The three that you mentioned are very good with blink. Pestilence and contagion are good if enemy team has healing. Mid: pen items have been recently changed so I am still unsure about the perfect build. Soul Reaver, rod of tahuti, charons coin, cooldown boots, ob shard, spear of desolation seems like great items to me rn. This build has solid 50 percentage pen and great power and damage. You mentioned kukulkan, always get book of Thoth on him. He utilises polynomicon really well too. Assassin: assassin's blessing into tier 1 mace. Get boots. If your god is cooldown heavy Jotun's wrath is great. You can then get transcendence, heartseeker, arondight, brawlers beatstick, Magis cloak are solid items in jungle. Hunter: olorun build would be hunters blessings, cooldown boots, ring of Hecate, demonic grip telhikines ring hastened ring rod of tahuti and one or two more percentage pen items(obsidian shard, soul Reaver) physical hunter builds usually go like devourers gauntlet, attack speed boots, executioner, oddysues bow, qins sais titans bane Warrior: Warriors blessings power boots void glad or berserkers shield (depending on the character) paired with general bruiser/ defence items(breastplate of Valor, Genghis guard) is the way to go. I am not sure if this what you wanted but I wrote a lot so here it is. Be sure to check other content creators and learn as you go.
@@NightDweller I've been tinkering with a ton of items trying to get a good setup for them..will try experimenting with glad shield some more despite the nerf
It's pretty easy. Think that you're a tool for your team, that you don't matter, what matters is your team. You're only useful as long as you can bring something to the team, and if you have to die so they can survive or get profit, you do. First see what kind of support you want to use: hard engage(gods that are constantly trying to pick kills, to initiate fights or force enemy skills or actives) , supportive(gods that don't excel that well on engaging, though they can and pretty well in fact, but rather they're great peelers providing useful auras, shields, heals, and all that stuff to help his team mates survive) , or damage and disruption(guys that don't have good peeling skills, that are weak with auras, and that can't hard engage that well, but have high base damage that makes them dangerous for careless targets) . Hard engage you need cd, ccr and offensive utility, supportive, you need auras, if you can heal, lotus crown, and cd, and if you're a damage support, get some utility damage in between some tanky items so you can add damage to your kit. Hard engage: Athena, ymir, ares(though ares is a mix between engagers and damagers). Supportive:khepri, sylvanus. Damage:cerberus, xing tian. Knowing what support you're using, how you should use it, and what to build, is the first step to succeed. Also I gotta say, depending on some matchups you can change the way you build and play some supports, for example, if they have a lot of physical damage and you use a cerberus, as his base damage is high, could be a good idea to build physical def auras first so you can tank and deal more damage than what they do to you. Other gods like geb can be played as hard engage or support. As engage go full def and try to engage hard and as soon as you get ult, as support, get cd so you can use your shield more often. As I say, every game depends on what your team mates are using and what they have, it's more of knowing the theory and then practicing it that anything else
You forgot to mention walls! While technicaly, they're not "direct CC" it sure as hell prevent you(and you team, hence the crowd part of crowd control) from pathing and can be countered with phantom veil. Walls are also pretty interesting since CCR won't do shit against it. IMO walls are the most under-rated ccs in smite.
Oy good stuff though mate, I may come across aggro in some of my comments but you know how it is when youve played since Beta. You have Firm opinions on some shit lol
I wish it was that easy. I hate heavy cc teams their so scummy. Let's just jump one guy with our 10 ccs and slows and roots and fingerfucks. Like my man I can't beads out of every attack and blinks. ;-;
