Legacy character stuff, they won’t take moves away from legacy characters if it becomes apart of their core game play. Aka they can’t take away any of his kick flow chart shit
lol so true, but hey, it's Tekken 8 so there has to be a ton of old moves we should know about at this point. This is my first Tekken so there's a lot of thing to learn
That's true af I main yoshimitsu, in blue ranks currently grinding. When they start spamming i just use the quick sidestep and punish them. Fr they keep performing the string even though you just dodged it
Bullshit, has nothing to do with the Character. These stfings are Hwoarangs BnBs its always a 50/50 safe orvunsafe dosnt matter, thats his gameplan. Its not Reina or Jin or drago where u can do safe good shit all day and even beat people easily...to master Hwoarang is HARD WORK
@@dw5433 we are talking about scrubs and button mashers, not people who actually play. Also we know hwoarang is hard to master and no one disagreed with that, but we're talking about brain dead figures.
@@dw5433 there's no full block string, each string has around 2-4+ moves, it's always, if not, 99% ends up with a high to duck or a punishable mid anyways.
@@hxn_ hwoarang still bs those quick frame kicks really has great zonning and tracking victor in the other hand is really easy to read players spam the same move over and over again while hwoarang in the other hand is really unpredictable
@@josesoldevilla3092 if player is spamming - any character he plays is easy to read. It's just a matchup issue, not a character's problem in that case.
@@hxn_ but fo real the pressure is overwhelming + those kicks are super fast if you try to check it a counter hit follow up will instantly stop your move i struggle playing hwo with jin many of jins move are like + 14 startup i really struggle to play hehe
@@josesoldevilla3092 It's a matter of practice. Hwoarang is very weak and easy to counter if someone just spams while playing him. And there are alsomore overwhelming characters like Xiaoyu.
serious question but how is this character balanced? so many spammable plus frame and the only weakness is guessing incorrectly or being sidestepped which is inconsistent in this game? i wonder what goes through their mind when balancing some stuff
Before watching this video: "I struggle to respect Hwoarang players" After watching this video: "I don't respect Hwoarang players" In all seriousness, I can see why he sort of sucks at higher ranks but man is it a chore to fight him.
My first defeat online was to a Hwoarang player got absolutely demolished 😂 My adjustment to beat him in the rematch was to use power crush moves more to keep him on the defensive whenever he got in my face too much
Vs better hwoarangs, they can react to seeing you block d 3 4, and use flappy kicks to CH launch your punish (a frame perfect 14 frame move will trade). And if you start waiting for flappy kicks he can go for a mid launch. So VS a good Hwoarang blocking d3 4 leads to a 50/50. To avoid it you are best to sidestep d3, 4 instead of ducking. (Though you still might have to duck it after an oki situation).
Yup. Knowing when to step in my experience is the best counter for him. That and a well timed dick jab. But don't get too predictable with it or you will get launched!
I wish you could see what character people are playing before saying yes to battle. I hate fighting Hwoarang, the bears and Jack 8. They all feel cheap to me.
Good guide as a Hwoarang main, now I know how to mix people up more Can’t wait for everyone to duck all those highs you were on about so I can JFSR them into the stratosphere 😈
Essentially the video says you either get lucky or you get obliterated, basically Hwoarang is a button mash 50/50 braindead character, even in Blue and Purple Hwoarang mains seem to hate blocking anything. I usually just match them once and leave win or lose, that thing is stupid as fuck to play against.
Thank you!!!!! As a newer player to tekken, his down 4,4 always clips me. I keep trying to duck the 2nd 4 after the first 4 hits and get launched. Very frustrating! This video is very insightful and I can actually now know what to lab!
To punish Hwoarang, you need to find loopholes hidden in his strings. It's very easy to counter him; you just need to learn from the matches you've played against him. Watch his strings and his go-to attacks. Whenever you find an opportunity to duck, that's when your combo starts. 😉 It's all about finding those loopholes. Also keep in mind he has same type of strings so whenever you see that string is coming you know what to do
You can do both f1+2 and b3/b4 from 123 LFS 1 and 124 RFS 2 mix-ups, just after 123 LFS 1 you press b4 and after 124 RFS 2 you press b3, that's the same move. You just use a different button depending on if it is LFF or RFF. And f1+2 could be executed both from LFF and RFF. f1+2 CH is not a launcher anymore, but +14 is guaranteed. There are also really good and abusable moves from Flamingo like: RFS u3 (14f, +4 on block), RFS uf4 (Mid launcher, -13), u44 (0 on block duckable last high), RFS 12 (0 on block). RFS b3 is not a launcher, but Heat Engager. Didn't touch upon Heat moves at all... And they are a big problem. But, yeah, good information to get into the match-up. Keep up!
@@Oomze Nah, facts. hardstuck Blue Hwoarangs get obliterated by the sheer fact that they never actually learned to counter enemies and just mash their way through wins.
If your characher has a full crouch ducking launcher or a big FC low sweep (with guaranteed followup), then use it when you duck d3,4 or backlash. You don’t have to wait for the d3,4 followup to whiff. Just do it. Same for backlash. No timing needed. Against d3,4 CH moves from crouch are also nice. Ling ws1, Shaheen ws1, Bryan northern cross, Leroy FC df4,1, etc. Hwoarang is locked in stance (with no block option) so they will very likely press. Also Bryan and Leroy options crush the high followup even if you are late and Leroy is low,mid so it beats the power crush too even with sloppy timing. And if your character has a throw with ub/uf input, then you can do it from crouch. You can punish backlash with it. Jack and Alisa can at least do this.
I played a big amount of red/purple rank hwo's and they are so resistant to learning it's incredible. I always just use reina's FC DF4 on reaction because they keep spamming high low high strings. I swear I've got a round doing ONLY that, just for them to do it again roundstart
This dude gotta be the only character in the game that I gotta know better than my opponent so I can get a single hit in. Holy shit fuck this character
9:47 right flamango, b3 is not a safe mid launcher(was a launcher in TK7). Now it's a heat enganger. But it does launch if you are already in heat and hold forward(spends entire heat bar)
was at a pretty big local recently, went 3-2 against arguably the strongest player there, then got 0-3’d by a hworang immediately after.. could have used this lol
Yep it’s time to go make that coffee and grab a biscuit. Go to the toilet if needed and then come back and hopefully get to play against the next ranked player.
My excuse for not launching b3 is that when he does it out of stance it is only -13 (or at least thats how it was in T7) so I usually just assume he did it from stance
not a bad guide but you dindt mention a rff df3 his black kite close in mid homing heat engager wich is +1 on block leaving him in rff also right flamingo b3 launches only with a heatdash now, and its still not a full combo for him, basically cuz of heatdash animation the best thing he could do is use a tornade move right away wich cuts a lot of damage in tekken 7 it was a full combo launcher and you are wrong about f 1+2 its not a counter hit combo launcher its just gives him free df 3+4 from a ch and mentioning his 3 3 flowchart he actually can press forward to stay in left flamingo with +2 on block this all is really important stuff to mention aswell
i love these anti character guides man. i know it might discouraging for you to put out so many videos and not get views, but i hope you keep uploading because to me as a new player your channel is the most helpful. other people's 'anti' videos are just game data lol not very helpful.
His d44 got me ready to invalidate the character and never rematch because I thought it’s a launching hellsweep now before labbing it lmao Thanks for the insight and outside knowledge
This character is a joke for over 20 years, 2 minutes to learn how to create a situation that takes hundreds if not thousands of hours by the receiving end to know how to deal with.
When I play against whore-ang I follow these tips: 1) random cancans (jun/asuka) because you crush lows, 15f fast, and if you miss you only get floated. 2) random low parries (anyone else) When he stops with his annoying lows 1) Low crush moves 2) kick sabaki (asuka) 3) armored moves Still doing these strategies after becoming battle ruler. Works well😂
Good stuff. I main hworange. So this guide is very useful for me not to get punish and which move has less punish and faster recovery frame. Lol. Not even hworange players can cover this much. 😊
Hhhh but down 3,4 After it's the same speech....how im supposed to know if he is going low or mid bro? When you start get hitted in this game soon it's over i saw all the recent tournaments and it's very difficult make come back in T8 and these players are elder they have more than 10 years playing and struggling when get hitted.
if you block the low keep ducking and duck punish after the high. if the low hits you dont duck because the move now jails on hit. in tekken 7 you could get hit by the low and still duck the high. you cant do that now in tekken 8
bruh this guy is capping hard. Doesn't even know the matchup properly. forward 1+2 isn't a counter-hit launcher. fd 2 is what you would go for now for frame trap launch. talks about approach tools and stepping looool but fails to mention the best and most important approach tool which is RFF DF 3 which is a long-range homing mid he got in Tekken 8. Learn him properly before you make a counter guide.
I’m in purple rank with him and my advice to anybody struggling against him is that I feel like he’s too slow, whenever I lose it because people are usually picked a faster character. If you can figure out how to get around his mixups, he’s really not that hard. As much as I love this character I think he’s really under powered and needs to be speeding up.
“I feel he’s too slow” is not specific advice bro. lol every character has universal fast moves like jabs. Some characters have under 10 frame panic moves like yoshi and Xiaoyu.
@@FortniteEvieFan I completely disagree with you!!! I know this character really well and I’m really good with him I have over 500 wins with him in Tekken 8
@@Evilj82 if I’m saying he’s too slow what is the opposite of slow??? A lot of the combos you’re seeing you can be interrupt very easily. (I’m not saying he’s not good or anything like that, I’ve got over 500 wins with him and I’m in purple rank)
Was about to say. This guide is full of loop holes. Literally says duck the highs after this move. Then proceeds to show that he has 3 mids after the moves so ducking is a huge no-no.
