When I see the tenta-missiles targets start appearing, I usually stop/slow down, so that they all cluster together, then I quickly move away before the first one actually hits. That way, it doesn't create as big a mess to clean up. I sometimes get hit by the splash of the first one, but it's usually not too bad.
well you guys this is my time to shine because iv developed the ultimate counter to this infuriating special like legit i spent more time than you can imagine, it probably takes up half the time iv clocked in this game iv written statistics, spreadsheets and essays on what's good, bad, neutral in terms of countering these everything was factored in this from equipment abilities to the weapons, different subs, different specials, strategies with those weapons, synergy with the weapon, sub and special and equipment all of this time spent purely to take down the biggest threat to your rank. The best counter to Tenta Missile is to- *THE CONNECTION IS UNSTABLE*
When I get targetted by Tenta Missles, I just Superjump to spawn. 1) If I stayed around anyway, it'd just be an area of ink for the opponent and I'd be in spawn regardless with the death cooldown. 2) The missles blow up on the spawn force field with minimal splatter around that takes a few seconds to clean up, 0 seconds if you have a sprinkler.
@@musicaldoodles9615 You can always pop off a special if you're desperate to stay in that spot, but you might not have to worry if you plant a radar or a mine on it before jumping, then jump back once it's over.
Once tagged, you stay put until the missiles are about to hit and then dodge at the last moment Like this you know exactly where it goes and you don't let them ink as much
All you have to do is dodge. Best advice I can give to practice that as a missile spamer myself is to get to stage 4 of inner agent 3 it helps I swear.
@@abbyboob5886 I just use missiles to force long range weapons like Splattlings and snipers to move from certain positions so they can't hold choke points.
You can actually counter it by doing the same but you have to also slay the missile player every single time they spawn so dont get another tho do recomend spamming armor
so my best counter is to just stand in one place when targeted, wait for the game to show where the missles are gonna explode in and just run away this is an actual counter I use
Stand still, I’m not joking either. Wait for the icons to appear and then move, this will force the missiles to one area not spreading it out. Noise wise? To bad no
If you're in need of a simple tip to help against tri and clash; just move backwards/stay at a distance. Both clash and tri have lots of trouble if you don't run straight into them at their range
i have played against players who used tenta missiles and you can just swim away quick in the ink to avoid being tenta missiled, that's one of the best counters for tenta missiles, the other one is with a booyeah bomb, by the way, there's a split second where you can splat the person when their using the tenta missiles, that split second is your only chance to strike at em
The problem with tenta missiles isn't avoiding them, it's the fact that you NEED to avoid them. It's really easy to move away from them, but that forces you to temporarily focus on that and causes you to leave any advantageous position you might've had. This is especially bad for slower weapons that rely more on proper positioning like splatlings or chargers and missiles make the game a lot harder for those weapons in particular. I'd also like to point out that Booyah Bomb is NOT AT ALL a good counter for missiles as you're immobile during it and missiles shred its armor like soft cheese. Also most people are likely to use missiles where they can't be easily shot at while they're using them.
@@pocketasparagus true but like i said, there's a split second where the person is valuable to get splatted once they use their tenta missiles, that split second is your only time to splat em
