I think kush is also a very strong faction to counter Tylis if u focus on mobile units and use the disciples of apedemak as elite infantry

I usually make full cav Parthian army with a few royal cataphracts and there isn't much in the game to stop them. Cycle trample and horse archers just mowing down armies for days hehe.

it's pretty weird that tribal warriors have a better armor compared to oathsworn who are noble warriors of the celtic society

This tactics is good and usually is uses in attila, but there is someone problem. When the enemy have normal cav he charge your wings and you cant defend your wight because your cav is in middle.

I find this to be a loosing matchup for tylis. It comes down to what does better heavy horse or skirmish cav its similar to boii vs galatia but those at least have cappadocians. The difference between the 4 barbarian mid tier swords is like 1% it wont win you the battle.

Fight me, Question How do you COUNTER A WIDE SPREAD ARMY? That seems to be the most hardest formation to beat when you're used to playing a close army, tight army style formation.

i was expecting u to say athen/sparta combo since in all my playthru, it these 2 faction that would go on to conquer half of the map. tylis is like a minor faction that of no consequences, they either get conquer by me or said alliance. so quite a controversial take u got there......

it's good but not a conservative tactic, it's only good in cases where you can afford to lose pretty much more that 60-70% of total units, it's not that much convenient

So the tactic to counter Tylis is to just play better ?

This is actually generalizable to all sword heavy factions, doing this against basically anyone not bringing a pike/hoplite army is effective. One of the best ways to beat Rome with a weaker greek faction is to do exactly this. There is something you should always be aware of when doing this tactic however, if your opponent is on top of his micro-- he can punish cycle charging pretty heavily. There are several ways to do this, one is in having cheap but sturdy cav sacrifice itself (citizen cav, is the premier example of this) envelop their cavalry, preventing them from pulling cav back easily. The other is to force-charge an infantry unit the moment they try to cycle in another unit, what this does is force a javelin volley from your unit instantly, right into the back of a retreating infantry unit that is trying to cycle out.
