How To: Cover Up Tattoo With Makeup

In this video I am going to show you how to conceal / cover up any tattoos that you want to hide for special occasions. Since it's summer this will be very useful as the main product I use for colour correcting is waterproof! Hope you enjoy this video!

I tried a different way to cover my sisters tattoo for a wedding we attended as bridesmaids (our parents are very against tattoos but we love them) so it covered well but I didn't watch this video before hand and I really could have shaved the section and used a primer. the coverage didn't last long cuz it was next to her dress strap and it rubbed alot. so it began to chip and flake off. your method looks alot better, I'm going to use it for future use if my sister is in need again. I don't cover mine cuz I don't need to haha. but very well done. thanks for sharing this

This is really good! A lot of people ask this at MAC. Will probably try it with a matte lipstick and some studio finish concealer. :)

Excellent...i have 4 shades of dermablend and not only can I not cover my tat as well as you but I still can't mix the perfect shade and it dries so much darker.

redeemedby Jesus Yes, Dermablend is not very good. I have two shades and still have to mix a little bit of Fit Me concealer to get my shade. Also you have to keep on adding layers to cover simple dark spots, and I'm not even talking about covering a tattoo. Besides, it is not as resistant as they said. Totally overhyped if you ask me...

Yeah! A great tattoos cover up is a brand called something along the lines of TV makeup. If I remember it correctly! I use it for all my princess dress ups to covers tattoos and birthmarks! Hope this helps!

Hi! Makeup might even out the tone of the scar, but unfortunately not the texture of the actual skin. It depends on the scar/size/type. BUT for darker skins I suggest dark orange/ red base color for the correction. Then a perfect match to your own skin on top. Follow the technique i did ;)

Májore Stefaneli Anastasia's Coral Reef Cream Color is Waterproof, so if you use airbrush or waterproof concealer/foundation on top, it should resist water ;) Something oil based.

If for cold colors tattoo work well orange concealers, with warm colors I have to use a green concealer, right?

Ciulia Yea that should work the same if you have a darker tatto you should use a red or pink and if you have a lighter one green and orange should work. - Hope that helped

+ATLAS Mine lasted for many hours. Then it started to fade a little bit :) It didn't cake or crease as that area is very smooth, not like faces :)

Wow! Now do the sleeve on your arm there lol. It would take me forever to cover up all my tattoos. I do not evny celebs that have to sit for hours to just cover up their tattoos (i.e. Dave Batista in Guardians)

No. It will not damage your tattoo. Although you should not cover up a healing tattoo.

Depends on your skin and how green the green is, but should be no problem of covering it with just a neutral color, as green is not that dark.

daze Bright I used the first translucent one to set the layers and then the skintone one to set all of it. Sorry, I don't think this would hold for 2 full days. :/ But you can try it and let me know how it went?

OK gotcha. I'm so confused about my own methods tho. Like mine looks like if I'm having it removed. You can still see it up close. Yours literally dissappeared. Have you tried dermablend? I see you use nyx products but can u plz just list all the items I'll need. I have primer. Foundation. Orange eye liner. What else? Thanx so much love u r vid

Hi Praveen! Red itself is the saturated tone of the skin, so you won't need to use a opposite color corrector, i would go straight to heavy coverage concealer ;)

Use the skintone color concealer...if you have black outlines, use the orange under. Yellow is such a light color on the skin...it really doesn´t need anything to cancel it out...

Paola A I think just a heavy duty skin tone camouflage makeup/concealer would do. There isn't really another way to color correct white/translucent stretch marks
