My 3 favourite loadouts: 1. Artemis and dump pouch full of HIRS 2. Hammer primed anything and dump pouch full of compatible ammo 3. jolt and trash talking banter ^_^
Gotta say, as a dude who uses Nerf for LARPing, my appreciation for your attitude twords blasters only increases. As I can't use a lot of the super meta blasters in my LARP (balancing reasons) your increased focus on style and personal preference instead of the general "hyper full auto or pump action everything" that seems to permeate the hobby is really refreshing.
A good military-style pistol belt is probably the single best investment any nerfer or larper can make. Mine has held up through 25 years of larping and 5 years of nerfing and it's still solid as hell (bought it from a surplus store). The second best investment is shoes. A friend of mine once told me that 87% of larpers don't have the proper footwear. He was a shoe salesman, and his numbers were admittedly biased, but he still had an excellent point.
@@jacoblewis437 Military surplus, bought from a surplus shop around 30 years ago. I did pick up a second one recently, not because the original wore out because that beastie will apparently last FOREVER, but because I wanted a secondary harness rig. That one I got off of Amazon, but I don't recall the brand. Make sure it's a nylon belt with a robust buckle tho. Also, I'm not a small guy (44" waist), so I had to get a belt extender for it too.
I’m enlisted in ny army national guard and for me I’ve had my load out modeled around my kit for that, not cause army translates into nerf but because it’s what I know, it’s what I’m comfortable with. And i think that’s more important than what’s the meta, if you feel comfortable with a set up your going to do 10 times better than with something your not!
Two things you forgot, tertiaries and quadarenies. Tertiaries are a combination of a sidearm and a secondary. For example, I have a backpack in my loadout, for a few reasons. It's never in the way, and it carries a ton of mags, however I never use those mags. Those mags I use to drop at a choke point then leave it, so my TEAM can use them. That backpack is my tertiary. Quadarenies are something that are used only in a specific situations. For example, I carry an Apollo on my vest in a holster over my shoulder. I use that Apollo in case I need to switch to a sharpshooter style class in order to support my team better. Of course, it is very rare to see Tertiarues and Quadarenies in a war, but they are feesable. I keep them out of my way, and they can help if the situation ever comes up.
See, That's where you're wrong bucko. In my opinion, there are 3 kinds of heavy classes. Tank, Heavy, and Gunner. Tanks carry a ton of ammo, which is kind of effective but better for support. The heavy is the opposite. They carry a ton of blasters. This one isn't great, but perfect for something like an Infinus. Then theres me. The gunner. Tanks carry ammo, heavys carry guns, I CARRY BOTH
Endwar 2021: Primary: CEDA S modded down to spec, Secondary: Modded worker Hurricane, Tertiary: Modded worker Hurricane. Last ditch: Upgraded tactical rival knockout. All set up in a three gun/ John Wick style configuration.
Thanks for the video, Walcom! I think these loadout philosophy videos of yours are my favorites, right along with Tag Back. But hey, love your content in general man, keep it up!
After watching this video, I decided on my loadout, using the blasters I currently have. Btw my Jacket has inside and outside pockets, so I don't need anymore gear. Primary: Two FlipFurys on 1. slings Secondary: Atlas strapped to my back on a 2. sling Sidearm 1: ShellStrike in Jacket Sidearm 2: Triad Jacket: Darts, Shells, 4 Rival 12r sticks, Rival Rounds
This is why my heavy PVP/HvZ loadout is everything attached to an FDL. My FDL can do pretty accurate, responsive, flat shots (because it's a highly tuned and exquisitely well-balanced brushless flywheeler), but it's restricted to only 22 rounds, so I have to use it almost like an AN-94 to actually make my ammo last. So, I'm putting a Proton Pack underslung as a foregrip and as a secondary- It does one thing my FDL doesn't do well, and that's indiscriminate, flamethrower-style suppressive fire, with long bursts. And as a tertiary, for super zombies, Juggernauts or a hail-mary shot, an XbZ Sub reshell mounted on a side rail, to make it qualify as a "battle rifle".
Sample Loadouts: (They include the name, description tags, and then the blasters usually in primary to secondary order) *Pumpman: (CQB, Close Combat)* Quadruple Lepuses (Lepusi? Idk its the blaster thats basically just a grip and empties an 18 rnd mag in half a second) Dart Zone Liberator With SPAS-12 stock (saw a guy who did it on reddit) As well as not too many mags but definitely a good amount of rival ammo *Long Range: (DMR, Hidden shots)* DZNP With half lengths (Dart Zone Nexus Pro) DZP MKII With holsters and belt (Dart Zone Pro MKII) As well as a tac vest and a few extra mags *Assault: (Direct Combat, Medium Range)* Dart Zone Spectrum (Lord Drac Rewire, 170 FPS) With foregrip but no stock or sight DZP MKII With holsters and belt (Dart Zone Pro MKII) As well as a tac vest and lots of mags *Heavy Assault: (Cover Fire, Heavy Weapons, Stationary)* Nerf Prometheus (No jokes, just destruction) Magnum X2 Superdrum (as a secondary, yes i am one of those primary-is-secondary guys) As well as bins upon bins full of rival balls *Demo: (Explosions, Mwahaha, DIstractions)* Adventure Force Villinator Half-Length Knockout Assortment of agreed upon soft throwables and smoke bombs As well as a tac vest to hold all these things. Also gets to be a demoman
i feel like i need to find more jolts as my secondaries. given my primary is a MEGA Talon modded with a barrel that fits elite and has a build in SCAR barrel for accuracy
Maybe the demolisher could compliment the GL well because not only does it have the capabilities of the Stryfe it can use the demo rockets just like the GL.
My load out is a rayven-stryfe integration that I’ve dubbed “Moon’s Vengeance” since it’s themed off my favorite marvel comics character Moon Knight. I run 12 round mags in pouches since they are a bit shorter and they don’t block my arm movement like 18 sticks. My secondary hammershot with a modded spring, and a fake balisong for melee, or a triad depending on what mood I’m in. I’ll have a minimized sledgefire too if I’m facing off a big crowd of people.
Jolt and socks is my hvz loadout i put the jolt in my pocket and socks in my backpack and go dressed as a student so i can blend in, of course i wear the bandana so i stay on the side where you cant see it clearly so im basically a ninja
This was an awesome video! I think I want to have a big beefy side arm to feel more prepared at all times. I think I’ll have enough space on my body for some kind of big thigh mounted holster for a shotgun cyclone shock my dessert pigeon with an extra magazine duct taped to the holster
I'm gonna go for a cool and functional loadout Nexus Pro, a Hammershot, then a Nerf Dog tennis ball launcher that shoots socks (Or I'll modify it so it takes dart tips and rival balls), and a sword. I think it'll be a fun loadout. It will also be fun to rig up so I can carry it all, but... I'm thinking of making a vest and stuff out of duct tape. It would work really well.
Rate my load out: Primary: EAT with worker Masada kit and a worker folding buffer tube stock with worker 22s (I call it the delE(A)Tor) Secondary: Stryfe with 6 round magazine (for if I need fast fire) Sidearm: Hammershot with 8 dart cylinder (a good reliable sidearm) I’ll replace my EAT with either a nexus or CEDA S when I get one
I'm not really big into Nerf wars but I have an ideal loadout that if it was possible to use I would. Primary: Perses w/ Extended Hopper Secondary: Ideally, a sawed off shotgun that uses spring thunder shells, don't know if this exists. Tertiary: Modified Firestrike for long range. Gear: Paintball pods w/ rival rounds, right holster for firestrike, left holster for shotgun, dump pouch with half darts, bandolier with various shells, sling for perses. If I had a loadout like this, I think I'd be able to do a bit of everything in a war, I can lay down suppressing fire, fire various ammo types, even being able to pierce shields, and take out people at longer ranges. Shotgun specifically on the left side because I'm right handed and can whip it out in close quarters to take someone out if needed, or if I loaded megas I can pierce a shield. If I could, I'd kind of want to bolt a bigshock to my perses to use a forgrip that I can also use to pierce shields as well.
My load out is: Primary: Revoltinator Secondary: powerbelle/speedswarm Pistol: Penny modded Maverick Last-Ditch: Triad Along with a extra 12 rd mag and a pocket of darts
My suggestion is Primary : A semi auto flywheel blaster ( better if it's a select fire blaster ) or a springer which is either a single fire blaster or a slam fire blaster. Would not recommend a shotgun as a primary. Secondary : if you are using a flywheel blaster as your primary use a springer or sniper rifle or a shotgun as these classes maintain your fun level. If you're using a springer as your primary use a high rate of fire full auto blaster as they might save you in your long time game Sidearm (optional) : Try to use something that doesn't use magazines and flywheels Tip : If you are using a magazine fed primary, use a magazine fed secondary of the same ammo and magazine. (shell ejecting shotguns are exceptions) Always use same type of ammo even for your sidearms Always carry a melee weapon with you. You might lose all your ammo but this might help you anytime Warning : This is purely speculation. I haven't even touched a nerf gun till now. So deal with it.
My strat is usually just stockpiling ammo, creating a choke point and/or barricading myself in somewhere with like 3 good blasters then just going into WW1 trench warfare style tactics if the enemy doesn't just immediately die.
Hey man! I live in PNW too, and am pretty much in the same boat as you and a lot of other people in the foam-flinging hobby. Shit sucks! I'm really glad to see you making videos despite it all, and can't wait for your next video! Ought to be spicy lol
I typically would call a sidearm a secondary, two long guns isn't practical, but it's nerf so they are won't weigh u down, but it may slap you as you run.
My loadout: Primary: Nerf swarmfire for close-medium range Secondary: Nerf maveric (N-strike ver.)for sniping Sidearms: Nerf marauder + Nerf vantage sword. Good for duel wielding, the vantage sword can also be paired with the swarmfire for point blank fighting. Finally, a belt and a backpack to mount it all on. As you can guess, I had a horrible experience with nerf mags in my early childhood. So many broken darts... so many jams...
@@m.8689 Point it at the enemy and pull the trigger. Back then, it was my most accurate nerf gun, so I used it as a sniper. I only use it in my yard, so the range isn't that large, and the meta is built around LMGs like the Vulcan and mega mastadon, so just having functional sights and ergonomics that allow aiming is enough. I recently got a Kronos, so I'm hoping that next time I have a nerf war, it can fill the same roll better.
So as a LARPER (star wars based game based in pennsylvania) I have a pretty elaborate kit. I am the heavy weapons Trooper in an old republic scenario. I carry 2 foam grenades, Nemesis as my primary on a sling. Vagabond or Takedown as a shotgun/ion blaster. Possible secondary perses in a sling on the back. Sidearm is a kronos on my left thigh and a single-shot star wars styled blaster on the right hip. Modded 100 FPS blitzfire Backpack full of rival rounds, beef jerky, water, and a few darts for the blitzfire or vagabond. Also, a larp-safe foam knife.
"eventually you'll need to load mags" I've got a 2 18 round mags taped together side by side so that once the first mag is spent I can spin the mag and load the fresh side in and top off, and when the 2nd mag is spent I will have the 1st mag fully loaded, rinse and repeat.
My favourite loadouts: 1: Flanker Turbo Advance with a light spring mod + two 40 dart cylinders (one of course in the blaster) and that's it, 2nd cylinder isn't that useful, it's just in case of a longer battle. 2: Sniper Status Just a PVC blowgun and a lot of darts in my pocket, that's it, PVC also can be used as melee in our battles. 3: ''Pistol'' rounds Nailbiter with Zoom&Doom stock or Sharpfire with stronger spring as a mini sniper. I don't use secondaries or sidearms (except melee sometimes), if your primary isn't relaible enough on its own, I recommend picking something else. I don't use magazines (for a lot of reasons) so I don't have to carry any nonsense on my body and I don't need any specific gear.
Hmm, no issues that have been had yet with PVC + melee? It doesn't guarantee an accident, of course, but I see having both in a game as an inherent risk to the dental health of the blowgun user. If it's a small group or just with your friends, then it's probably not much of an issue.
IF I was able to make it work, I would take an infinus, minimize it, and put a stock attachment on the back instead, so I could put the tristrike barrel with the rocket attachment on the top. Then i'd put a roughcut, barreled to run mega as a masterkey. I'd also put select fire into the infinus, upgrade flywheels/motors, switch to lipo, etc. I'd also want two modulus attachments for the tri rockets to go on the sides of the infinus. As a secondary, i'd carry a rival perces, modified to use the backpack from out of darts. I'd probably also carry dual hammershots, with dual emergency big shots in the case of supers or something that requires only mega. I'd also carry socks, of course.
I've got a stupid loadout: Rubber Chicken Grenades- squeeze to prime, then fling towards your enemy. The squeal will ensure that enemies notice the grenade, even if it lands on the ground behind them. Now, this wouldn't work if grenades are required to fire "shrapnel" to be counted as hits, but then again.. Imagine running into battle with just a load of rubber chickens strapped to your chest 😁
I was at the God challenge that you used the gameplay footage of. I ended up getting the piece of God armor that was the prize for that challenge. I'm a big fan walcom, keep on brother.
@@WalcomS7 yeah you were blasting that target with your dominator full auto at like what 15 darts a second? Me with my sword tapping it got red team just as many points.
I tend to only run one blaster. I enjoy more of the fast-paced gamestyle, keeping on your toes, i find it most fun to be running around and sneaking up on people. For that reason i will often only have a prinary, sometimes a small sidearm.
my loadout : 1. Utility belt with 4 puches for my 6 round magazines 2. gun holster for my secondary 3. bullet pouch 4. Slingfire with a sling attached to it
Primary: DZ Max Stryker with a Proud Papa as a side-rail mounted grenade launcher (I'll attach said side rail). Will use either short darts (AFMax/Pro darts in Talons) or long darts (AF Max full length darts) and the appropriate spring spacer to account for the game type and FPS cap. Secondary: Auto-Stryfe pistol for moments where I need increased rate of fire. Tertiary/dedicated sidearm: DZP mk 2 or Disruptor depending on the FPS cap etc. Other gear: melee weapon, suicide Jolt, and socks
i call this the "i don't need a secondary" load out: primary: modulus regulator (with a 12 shot clip) red dot sight modulus barrel strike modulus grip strike mediator stock secondary: modulus stryfe red dot sight chrome barrel no stock
my current loadout: DZP MK3, Nerf Strongarm in a drop leg bag type holster, and sometimes a takedown on a sling if i want or need HIRS. im probably gonna get myself a DZP MK2 cuz that is the best pistol on the market.
Optimally i would like to have my Primary and Secondary use the same type of ammo and magazines. OR say im running a Caliburn primary that takes half lengths BUT also shoots full lengths....and my secondary only shoots full lengths i can not feel bad carrying a few full length mags since they could also be thrown into the primary if needed. Also you can run something like a Nexus pro that you can stuff megas into if needed.
Are there any resources for tactical gear directed at Foam Flinging, or is this like the Airsoft Community to a degree and it's a lot of modded real world gear? More or less would like a reference point is all! Will probably do some more research on this in the future, but glad you went over the basics for those that might have questions on this front or are just starting out in the hobby for sure!
aight so my primary is a jolt, and my secondary is an n strike secretstrike. I also have a backup but it switches between either a reflex ix-1 or a shitty walmart gun. Obv most op loadout on planet earth
I don't have all of these things but i would like to have: The rival Edge series sniper with a sling on the back a strongarm in a holdster and a stryfe for CQB then i would take jolts and microshots everywhere
this has worked very well for me in the past i used only a small shield and only took glancing shots to the legs, with a full body riot shield that would work perfectly
Loadout: Primary: Adventure Force Spectrum Secondary: Elite 2.0 on Commander Pistol: Quadrot Emergency Pistol: 2 shot jolt reskin Darts: Elite Darts (EWWWWWWW) Gear: 2 12 round magazines and extra darts for frontloading my blaster or loading magazines if someone is covering me My tatic: I just place my already-fed magazine back in my belt magazine holder as I'm reloading.
