At night, is it better to have your dog in their crate in a place where they can see you? Or is it better for them to learn to sleep even if they can’t see you? Would not being able to see you be better to help with separation anxiety for example when you leave, because it teaches them to learn to be ok when they can’t see you?

Do you have a sign for kennel/crate? It was easy teaching our hearing dogs to kennel. Im wondering a good way for them to make that connection with a sign for a deaf puppy.

Our 10 week old puppy had just started sleeping through the night with the crate door closed when he got a stomach virus that caused him to vomit about every 2 hours. At the time he wanted to return to his crate in between bouts of vomiting. It started in his sleep, so you can imagine what he thought of his crate once he got well. He is sleeping in his crate with the door open now because he goes crazy if we try to shut it, but he wakes up 2-3 times a night, which he wasn't doing before he got sick. Any ideas on re-training him?
