Hi Jeanette, if you gently comb your hair with a wide tooth comb, then wash your hair and add conditioner, then gently comb out, your hair should be fine! Stuart
Hi, pleased you like the style! I generally have to chose hairstyles which most people have requested! If I get many more then I will demonstrate the style you requested (Moux Hauk) Stuart
Great way to do this style, I have been mostly sporting the bun-hawk or curly faux-hawk where you just have 4 ponytails and pin them down, afterwards there is too many bobby pins and ponys pulling my head super tight so I am really thankful for this tut, now I have a new way to do this look thats more the look I was wanting in the first place and less metal in my head LOL Thanks!
My pleasure Rayn, you should find this version a little easier. I will be uploading another funky up/down style on Monday. It's a beehive ponytail look! Stuart
Hi, if the extensions are placed in correctly you should be able to.I mean if there not placed too close to the outline so when you pull back you won't see them. Other problem is brushing it out, the extensions may not with stand too much of this It's hard but not impossible!! Good luck!!
Awesome tutorial! I am terrible at doing hair, so that's why I leave it down most of the time. I tried doing this and failed miserably haha. Oh well I'll keep trying.
wow where in London are you? (looks like soho square?) Im a guy with curly hair and id love you to do this style for a 50s rockabilly part im going too ;) (sept 27/28th)
I really want to try this out, but the portion of hair above my right ear is shaved, so I can't make the pony tail. Is there any way to do it without that portion of hair? I'm not finding any good videos that give alternatives.
Hi, it is harder to do but not impossible. As I haven't seen your hair I can offer you advise but you will have to adapt it slightly depending on how much is shaved off. I would go about it in the same way but you may have to slightly change the position of the ponytail. You could try and comb just the left side to the middle but if it looks slightly odd then you can brush it more to the left and you could wear the style off balance. I have done a similar look with a ladies hair shaved on one side and it looked good where the ponytail was about 2 inches to one side rather than straight down the middle. Good luck with it. Regards Stuart
I'm gonna try this with my own hair lol I don't want to cut it into a mohawk so I'll just do a faux hawk. Does the back of the hair really have to be that sponged up (mine is curly but it does sponge a lot)?
Hi Alex, the reason that the models hair needed to be backcombed quite a bit was because her hair was fairly straight and thick, if it was not backcombed as much the style would not have been able to look as full as it did and would have probably collapsed. On curly hair you would not have to backcomb it as much as it will bulk up slightly easier, although you would still need to backcomb it to create some bulk. Good luck with creating it! Stuart
Hi Mitzy, yes it can. As you would be brushing the sections quite tight if the hair is wavy it won't make any difference. Once you have back combed the hair too, it will make your fine hair appear thicker. The only difference is you may need to backcomb your hair a little deeper into the roots! Good luck with creating this look!! Stuart
Hi,backcombing is different than knotting, the only real danger of breakage is if you don't brush the hair out gently afterwards.Make sure you use plenty of conditioner before you start to gently brush your hair and take your time! Stuart
