Hey, I'm thinking of making a channel to create content such as fun history and nature videos, perhaps even beauty content at some point. I am hoping that I can eventually make a career out of it. Would it be best to get a business account for this, or should I stick with personal? I am literally new to all this and need some advice. Also, I am wondering about names etc. Should I use a nickname? At some point I might get recognised though and people might be wondering why I am using a fake name. Thanks for any advice you may have.

Hey, Its your choice - you can do either. Its common to setup as an individual and then turn it into a brand account later. This is my recommendation as it keeps it simple at the beginning.
Personally I'd select Business, but you can use either. They now have channel permissions which is seperate to the full brand account, so theres less reason to make it a business account if its only for RU-vid.
@@Gaurav.P0 I made mine with a Brand account. But a few years ago it was quite different. I wouldn't worry too much now. You can achieve the same results with both types of account

Could you advise on which account type would be more advantageous for this purpose? Hello, There is no real difference in terms of setup, and theres no technical benefits either way. However, when you get to monetisation, if your paid account is registered as a 'Business' you will have to provide organisational verification. If you do it on a personal account as an 'Individual', you are taxed as a freelancer/creator and its much easier to get your money. Thats the only difference I know of.
yes, you can monetise any channel. there are minimum requirements etc, but theres no difference between a business channel or a personal channel when it comes to being able to make money from it.
Hey there, I have a question. I don’t like using my real name. When I create a google account, can I use a “stage name” instead? I saw google has a “misrepresentation of identity” policy but I’m not sure what that means. And if I do use a fake name, will that affect me down the road when making an Adsense account? For instance, I use John smith as the account name and channel name, but use my real name for Adsense, will it have a problem with the Adsense name not matching the google account name? When you signup with an account, I recommend using your real name. There are channel and monetisation checks that you will need to verify who you are, etc. It might be down the line, but if you're planning on growing a channel you don't want the hurdles later on. However, you can completely mask your name from public view, and only use an Alias like you suggest. From what I know, your AdSense is linked to your Google account by the association you create. The names do not have to be the same, but the AdSense account does have to be verified and correct for them to release money into your bank account.

@@ThisGuyRightHere353 To make videos longer than a certain amount and some other things, your channel needs to be verified. In terms of monetisation, your channel goes under manual review before you are accepted onto the monetisation program. Hope that explains enough for you, they are quite large topics and worth some research if you want to know more :)

Hello, yes they've recently changed it, but still very similar, the steps are as follows: Click sing-in on RU-vid. Create Account. 'For work or business' Enter your details, next Enter your details, next At the email address stage you can use your current email, or select 'Get a Gmail address instead'. Hopfully the rest is self explainatory, but any issues let me know!
I have a question you might be able to answer. Made a new RU-vid account. I'm trying to upload a video. But an error comes saying my RU-vid account is not linked to a Google account. When I made my RU-vid I signed in with my Google. Any tips?
Can you sign in to your new account on RU-vid? (i.e. Do you get the icon in the top right to indicate its the new account?) If you have created a new RU-vid CHANNEL, that isn't always an ACCOUNT (but can be). It sounds to me like you made a new channel, and you can flick to your new channel by signing into your original account, then select the channel from the list on the profile icon on the top right. Let me know if it helps at all - hard to know without having seeing it!
I don't know why creating a RU-vid channel requires having a Google account. Maybe it's because RU-vid is a Google website. I used to use my other RU-vid channel called "Lazar Alabić" since September 22nd 2017, but its username is my real name and surname and its profile picture is me in real life, we mustn't know personal info of others, and I couldn't just change its username and profile picture because I need to use it for the Classroom app, so then I had to create this account called "Stitch" on February 28th 2022.

Strictly speaking, you dont need to update your name on the Google account or a RU-vid channel - but I would recommend it. Go into your Google account and follow the instructions to name change: support.google.com/accounts/answer/27442?hl=en&co=GENIE.Platform%3DAndroid
Hi!! I have a problem. There's an unknown gaming RU-vid channel connected to my Google account. I found this by going into my Google personal information and then clicked onto my RU-vid profile, a gaming channel comes up instead of my channel. How did this happen? And how can i get them out of my Google account? Please what can i do, any ideas? Thank you
Hello. Sounds like someone has given you permissions to their channel and you've loaded it up as default. When you are logged into RU-vid on a computer, in the top right is a profile/icon. Click on Switch, is your channel listed there? If it is, then select it and you'll login to your channel instead of the Unknown one.
@@joe_cullenOh, thank you, but no, no one gave me permission to enter their account. It' s the opposite, these people have connected their RU-vid account onto my Google account. Below is a screenshot. This channel comes up instead of my RU-vid channel's homepage and when i click, 'your data in RU-vid' all my personal information is their for them to see. They can see my Google photos, control my RU-vid channel settings, control all my social medias. Literally watch what im doing all day and night. When they were downloading & sharing my phones data i heard a sound through my phone that sounded like a rolladex spinning files sound and a guy saying '"Oh Shit" as my phone was being emptied and i saw my content being 'shared' for about minutes each time then it all suddenly stops. Anyway thank you. I wont be able to get rid of them, they feel they have a right to control my property. They're harassing me and im just worried about my family. 0:12 0:12
Hey, if youre looking to only have your RU-vid Channel as a brand - then thats done in the RU-vid settings within Permissions. Its how Google recommend doing it for youTube channels. Elevating your entire Google account to a brand isnt usually needed.
