No, no roting. They dry out naturally without issue. I typically look for roots that have a cool shape or structure, not a particular type of root. Just ones that have the look I'm going for.
I really like this method but how well does it work on smaller bases? This level of awesome detail on a 100mm is great but I'm wondering what you recommend to tone it down for a 32mm.
Paver base is the base material used when installing Paver stones (walkway stones). If you were making a walkway made of of Paver Stones the process would be as follows: dig the path, fill with paver sand, back fill with paver base, and then lay the stones. You can find Paver Base at most home improvement stores.
