Great tutorial. If you want to create a inner circle that has equal distances on all sides then you can create a circle from the center point of the spiked circle and hold down shift + alt while dragging out, that will create an inner circle with equal distances on all of its sides between itself and the outer circle.
This is great!!!! I've never taken any illustrator classes and for the longest time been wanting to find out how to "expand" the stroke. This took care of that. I hope you are being returned the abundance you are providing to us. Looking forward to seeing more vids. By far the most helpful subscription on my list. Thanks again!
Wow! Thank you so much for your kind words, it means so much to get this kind of feedback - it's why I keep making them! And thanks for subscribing! You made my day :)
Wow, this is my first time making a hipster badge. I have to say, with your instructions, it was an enjoyable experience. Very fun and easy to do. Thanks!
Holy shit. How did I not think of holding shift when pulling out a star shape. It saves so much time on building the outer shape. Damn my Graphic Design Diploma!
i like your video very much it helps me a lot in my assignment for that i thanks you very much for your effort you can used CMD+SHIFT+resize it will resize from centre alignment then no need to align overtime
When I divide at 9:14 it makes all three of my inner lines solid with a stroke of 1 or 2 points. When I tried to keep going even with my badge looking like this I was having an issue deleting out unwanted pieces of my rectangle. When I deleted pieces a border at the ends of my inner lines even after I turned off the stroke of the rectangle entirely (looks like a rainbow). Anyone else have this issue?
when putting another circle in it why don't you just drag it from the centre with shift + alt (cmd + alt on your mac) makes it alot easier and faster! Thanks for the tutorial :)
I did a quick look on the Deming font and it is not a free font. It's only free for personal use so I don't even think it's free to use in a YT video without paying for the commercial license. True? I'm new to design but want to make sure I'm not breaking any trademark/copyright/licensing stuff.
This video was recorded in 2014 when the font had different licensing and was obtained in compliance with all licensing at the time. If you're planning to use it in a youtube vid now, yes, a commercial license will be what you'll want to pick up
I'm glad I am not the only one here noticing this , thanx Marl, but Teela you have such a sexy voice it hurts. I will pay you just to talk over the phone for a while. Damn girl...lol
