Thanks for this! I was just starting to wonder how to incorporate parallax backgrounds last night. I just learned it's even easier than I presumed! Great mini-tutorial!
HONEY, YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW MUCH THIS MEANS TO ME Thank you so much for this tutorial! 💗 I want to make animation memes and this will definitely help so, so much! I've definitely underestimated the 2d camera folder for stuff like this
Sorry to say, but CSP doesnt support parallax or z axis layering like AE does. There is a separation between the fireflies and the BG but the BG alone has so many layers to be working in parallax, but it did not. What you can or should have done is animate the BG layers separately after dropping into the camera folder. Honestly the camera movement is quite lame anyways. If you draw in rasterize layers and use camera to zoom, it will lose the quality. Similarly if you think you want the animation in 1080p but work in 2.5k or 4k instead and do camera movement in premiere pro later, that lowers the quality as well. Unless you are sticking with vector layers + camera in CSP. I love everything else about CSP though. Using it actively for animation from past 2 years now. Delivered about 50+ projects I wish CSP updated with some radical features.
Everything is Ok but for the word "Paralax" here. This is the total opposite of a Paralax background. The animation shown here is a Traveling Camera done on CSP. Paralax backgrounds are backgrounds that will infinitely loop and must be animated layer by layer with differences in the movement speed as objects are meant to be closer or further away, to give the impression of deepness in a 2D animated piece.
