I went through and made the spreadsheet in the tutorial and it worked out great! I was able to customize it with my own colors too, which was a lot of fun! I learned some new stuff with the conditional formatting (I didn't know that you could add check marks like that! I added stars to mine!). I hope that this is something we see more of because it's a lot of fun to build these and I feel like I'm learning a lot! I guess I should go check out your course then!

Thank you for sharing, I have one question- How do I assign multiple tasks under each project?

Hi there! Good question. On the task page, you assign a project to each task in the project column. And you can do this multiple times. Therefore, you assign multiple tasks to each project simply by selecting that project for more than one task. I hope this makes sense and helps.

I am following your tutorial but the first Countif formula which I hsve copied aexactly as in the tutorial gives an error message - any suggestions on what might be the issue?

I do have one suggestion. Where are you located? If you are located in a country where you use decimals as the thousands separator for numbers instead of commas, then the argument separator for functions may be different for you. Try using semi-colons instead of commas as the argument separator for the function. This might do the trick.

It's a wonderful spreadsheet but the task-count formula sadly doesn't work for me :( I keep getting an error when I hit enter. I tried it multiple times too. Edit : Excel uses a different list separator depending on your region. I'm not located in an English speaking country, so my list separator is ";", instead of ",". So replacing "," with ";" when typing the formulas solved the problem! And then all of the formulas worked flawlessly.

How strange! You are welcome to send me an email with a copy of the spreadsheet you're working on, and I can take a look at it for you. I really don't mind.

@@spreadsheetlife It's so nice of you to offer! Thank you so much. I actually managed to figure out why it wasn't working for me. Excel uses a different list separator depending on your region. I'm not located in an English speaking country, so my list separator is ";", instead of ",". When I replaced all of the "," with ";" in your formulas, it all worked great, and your video explanation is very helpful!

Oh ok, awesome! I'm glad you figured it out, and thank you for letting me know. I will make note of that for future reference! 😊👍

Okedokie, let's see if we can figure it out. Have you tied replacing the commas with semi-colons? If you have, but that doesn't help, I encourage you to send me an email at info@spreadsheetlife.com with a copy of your file so I can take a closer look at it for you! 👍
